EXPIRED: Part ONE of 2015 CLUB LEVEL (CL) INFORMATION and HELP Thread DO NOT POST HERE!!!

How does the alcohol work on the CL? Is it unlimited throughout the day? That is something I actually do not want. I wasn't sure if it was limited to the evening only. Thanks!

I believe it is out in the evenings, but I think you can ask in the afternoon (like if you wanted it for later when you get back from the parks and the lounge is closed). Someone correct me if I'm wrong! :-)

But I am curious...if you don't want it, why does it matter if it's available throughout the day or not? (Not meant to sound snotty)

If you happen to be chatting with any CL CM's ask them about BC CL renovation time line. They probably don't know, but they might have heard rumors. When I was at the BC CL last month a CM told me a bunch of BC CL CM's are heading over to the YC CL side during the closing. Ok that was a lot of abbreviations LOL!!! :rotfl2: And if you see Shakira in the lounge tell her she's awesome!! :goodvibes Love her :thumbsup2

I will see what they have to say!! :-)

It's so strange to go to the Disney website and see availability at Poly CL in all 3 view categories for an AP rate! Every time I see it my heart does a little flutter thinking back to all the years I tried and tried to find availability and couldn't. Not a single room at YC, BC, or BWI for our dates, but anything we want at the Poly is wide open.

I know...it's so tempting, isn't it? We're considering a summer trip and we would go before the pool closes....it's hard to break away from Poly CL, even with the bungalows in the way of the glorious view, we still love it.

I just looked up a bunch of different resorts -- we'd be staying CL over July 4, and I'd really like to try GF main building but it's NEVER available for any dates I check. Then I checked CR CL and I can get that. BC, yes. BWI, yes. But my heart keeps saying Poly for the juice, view, 4th of July Wishes, cabana at the pool, TTC.......:confused3

Crazy as it seems, all GF categories were wide open for us the last time I looked. I've never seen AP availability for that many GF RPC room types.

I get what you're saying, but Poly is a mess, and it's only getting worse by the day. I just don't think I'd enjoy myself there with the current construction. Would you really relax with all of that going on? Plus every time I read tikiman it seems like something else is closed... laundry closed, arcade closed, walkway to ttc closed, capt cooks closed, beach basically closed, pool closing, it's a mess. :sad1:

yeah I hate to say it but I agree. We love the polynesian and had an enjoyable stay earlier this month but the resort really is a mess. With all thats closed since we left I think we'll be staying elsewhere for awhile. I was just playing around with AP discounts and was able to find TPV CL at the polynesian for 499. While that is tempting I think we're better off sticking with GF.

So, I know it always seems kind of hit or miss as to whether IPO will reach out first or whether you have to do it first.

In my previous CL stays, I didn't have CL as an original booking, it was always something I changed my reservation to. In those bookings where a non CL booking was changed to CL, I never got the "welcome" email from IPO. I always had to reach out.

So, I just recently changed my August reservation back to GF SL. Because I had been booked through a TA deal, my switch to GF SL had to be a whole new reservation. So, with that new reservation made yesterday, I finally got a welcome email from IPO without having to reach out to them.

So, I know the theory has been thrown around, but I do believe that if your initial booking is CL, IPO reaches out first. But, if you change your reservation to CL, you will have to reach out.

Also, maybe I have nothing better to do on a Friday night than to ponder this. :rotfl:

I totally agree, and I've pondered that same thought on this thread before. There have still been a couple of occasions where I didn't receive a welcome even though I booked CL initially, but more often than not I do get an email.

I just started my first blog today, I'm in the process of writing an article about club level and you've given me a good point to mention. ;)

Actually, we were just at Poly last week, CL TPV. I posted on the Poly thread, but we were given a 1st floor room, which we love, but it really wasn't TPV anymore:

So they credited our account for the difference between LV and TPV, which was fine because we didn't want to switch rooms because we absolutely love 1st floor in Hawaii. We were 1503, so we still had the beach, but our view was obstructed by the bungalows, even though the Castle peeked thru 2 roofs...

I will say that we wouldn't stay at Poly with the main pool closed. But we didn't mind this other stuff going on there -- it didn't hinder our fun. I'm going to keep checking for GF RPC openings though -- that's where we really want to stay next!

I'm sure they're crediting people left and right these days. I don't understand why they just can't change the views, at least temporarily, to avoid anyone being disappointed. Lots of people book the Poly and don't read message boards or follow Disney news, can you imagine their surprise when they get there and find everything tore up? :sad2:

We stayed at Poly CL earlier this month and had a great time - construction wasn't that big of a deal, but it was a short stay. In January, it will be GF/BWI instead of Poly/BWI, which works out well because we really want to try GF and that's a perfect time.

This isn't about Poly or CL, but I LOVE your Olaf cake!!! We're celebrating our youngest son's bday in January at WDW, and earlier this month, he got a good look at a bday cake in the booth next to us at Garden Grill and is all about the bday cake idea. Do you mind sharing details regarding the ordering process, the cost of the cake, etc? I've seen the cake chatter thread, but I really love your specific cake! And if staying CL, do you still call the number on the cake chatter thread, or does IPO assist with that? Thanks!

It actually doesn't matter bec we got the room we want and won't be staying CL.

If you are looking for RPC for this July, you won't find any availability as June 29th is the scheduled start date for the RPC refurb.

Oh -- well that explains it! Thank you:). We will get there someday....

Lol- well I have to say I'm totally embarrassed because I didn't mean to link my whole photobucket:upsidedow! Yes those Olaf cakes were so cute! I did put some info on the cake chatter thread when we got back. I was a bit confused on which numbers to call because we also had a cake delivered to our room at Poly (lots of cakes!), so I emailed IPO and asked exactly which numbers to call for each place (Chef Mickeys and Poly room delivery). They gave me the numbers, but to be honest, I got transferred both times, so I'm not really sure what to tell you. I ended up with Poly in-room dining for the room cake. And I emailed the Contemporary to work out details, then they gave me a direct phone number to call to actually place the order. It all worked out really well! Let me get the info from the cake chatter thread rather than my memory....
Place: Chef Mickeys
Description: 2 mini cakes with 2d image edible Olaf
Cost: $35 cake + $15 Olaf. Total $50 x 2

These cakes were tasty and super moist!

I know! I have to say when we got there, everything I saw looked exactly like the pictures posted on tikiman's facebook page, so we definitely had no surprises. Just the room assignment -- I said right away "the first floor is still TPV?" and the CM said that as long as you can see the Castle, it's TPV:eek: The manager disagreed and that's why he credited us for LV room. I do wish they'd change the categories for the future people staying there.....I sort of got the impression that if a guest didn't question it, then nothing would be changed....

Just checked in BWI deluxe CL and a bit bummed. Such a small selection available during breakfast n snacks.

Breakfast - eggs, yogurt, croissants, bagel, muffins, fruit and cereal. Single flavor options other than cereal.

Snacks - plain or sprinkle sugar cookies, apples, bananas, chips, goldfish, nuts, chocolate almonds.

Stayed at GF CL x2 (non rpc) and WL CL once. Alot more variety during each sitting. Crackers, pretzels, veggies n dip, pastries at breakfast.

So far pretty bummed.

I agree, I thought BWI CL had the skimpiest food offerings that we've seen. Plus I hate that they don't have a fridge full of drinks and just a watery ice bucket. We actually got breakfast downstairs at the boardwalk bakery most mornings last year. They have some really yummy stuff! Plus the lounge seemed to never have an open seat.

You're welcome. I hope you are able to find availability in RPC on a future trip because it is an amazing experience, IMO :wizard:.

I'm sorry you're not very happy with the offerings at BWI CL. We've never stayed BWI CL, but have stayed WL CL and GF SL and I agree....the offerings at both are great :thumbsup2.

Question for everyone...we may add 2 extra nights to our May 16-22 vacation. Our adult DD's are leaving on the 22nd still, so its just 3 of us. I was thinking of trying out AKL or WL CL. We have stayed in a regular room at AKL but have never step foot in WL. Please give me your thoughts on leaving the Poly and switching.

TIA
