EXPIRED: Part ONE of 2015 CLUB LEVEL (CL) INFORMATION and HELP Thread DO NOT POST HERE!!!

Looking for advice too. I just found out I can book our resort room for our first family trip in May 2016. Help me pick a club level.

Husband, 4 year old daughter and myself.our daughter is most excited about the princesses(esp Anna and Elsa). DD is requesting a view of water. DH loves his wine and cocktails. I would like have access to good coffee and comfortable beds.

Thank you, Kristi

We love the Boardwalk and Beach Club. We liked the food CL at BWI better than BC though. And I always tell people that they underestimate EPCOT in regards to princesses. Epcot has Snow White, Mulan, Jasmin and Aladdin, and more at the World Showcase..and we love the Akerhus Princess lunch...and I love that both of those resorts are within walking distance of Epcot and Hollywood Studios.

We aren't rope drop people so we usually walk through Epcot when it opens to take the monorail to MK.

Spring 2016.

Oh, boo. We're planning at least one Poly stay before then. So I guess forget everything I said earlier about waiting until all the construction is complete. Now all three of our boys are identifying Poly as a strong favorite. I think we'll skip CL to avoid east pool construction and request Fiji.

How close to your stay does the online check-in window open? Do you get notified that online check-in is available or do you have to go looking for it? Assuming it's done through MDE? TIA!

It opens up 60 days before your check-in date. I'm not sure if you get an email about it - but if you check MDE it will say when it is open or when it will open.:)

They gave it to us for our 30th Anniversary! I did find out it was made onsite at the GF. It was a bit larger than a large box of chocolates and filled inside with chocolate candies similar to the Victoria and Albert's candies!

SOOO GOOOD! :cloud9:

It supposedly is on the in room dining sheet somewhere but I never found it. The box was THICK, around a half inch of dark chocolate except the lid which was white chocolate. They were kind of enough to wrap it for the journey home. Sadly we had to take a mallet (it was THAT thick we couldn't just break it) to it in order to freeze it after we got home but we're still eating it! I've started dropping a chunk into my morning smoothie for a taste of the GF each day!

Lucky you!

We were RPC for our 45th but we didn't get anything. As a matter of fact, I was disappointed that we didn't even get turn down service with the chocolates on the pillow. Thought that maybe it was part of cut backs, but when we moved to the BWI they gave us balloons and a small chocolate picture of the BWI. Plus we did get turn down there. No chocolates, just salt water candy.

Yikes. That sounds like an unfortunate oversight, since every room at the GF should get turndown service. In RPC and during an anniversary trip, that is particularly lame.
Glad BWI recognized your special celebration.

On this same subject, we are staying for the first time CL at BC starting 5/28. It is a split stay starting with AOA, then switching to BC. I did do online check-in. We were hoping to leave AOA the morning of 5/28 and go directly to BC to check in and hopefully have breakfast in the CL lounge before heading to HS for the day. It is fine if our room is not ready. So will we be greeted by the CL CM and be able to go to the lounge and eat? This was my understanding and I hope I did it right by doing online check in. :)

Yes you can eat in the lounge even if your room isn't ready. The new BC lounge is wonderful - it is huge and plenty of offering. We love it. Enjoy!

Yes, BWI CL was particularly wonderful!! Don't get me wrong, we thoroughly enjoyed RPC with our TPV watching wishes from our balcony! Just a teeny bit disappointed about the Chocolate! I LOVE chocolate and had predetermined that if we were given some, I was going to indulge! Perhaps it is for the best that we didn't get any! Less temptation that way!:-)

RPC and BWI CL for your anniversary - I like your style :wizard: Too bad you didn't get your chocolate! :p

That's awful! No turn-down service is unacceptable no matter what CL you're in, but with RPC prices, it's almost a criminal offense! And we've always received something for anniversary or even a birthday in RPC, but I will say that some "gifts" are better than others, and I still haven't figured out why that is! One time, we got a giant chocolate Mickey sculpture...I think that was the best one. I don't know if it depends on who is working a certain day or if it's kinda like getting a room upgrade (only it's a chocolate upgrade) :) I will be interested to see what Hubby gets at BC for his birthday. It could just be Neil's fancy bday button :)

Turndown service is part of the extra cost of the room and is advertised on Disney's website. I agree it IS almost criminal not receive it. I'm really sorry you didn't and hope you mentioned this to someone.

We were RPC deluxe king second floor for 10 days. We had turndown and chocolates between 3 and 4 pm each afternoon. The first night we didn't realize how early mousekeeping came and DH walked her tip down the hall to her when we got back to the room. He came back beaming with delight and with a hand full of chocolates! We got extra chocolates every night.

While I think this location is horrible in relation to the lounge, it did have the spectacular. I will never book this category again because of the chance to get the second floor since I think the lounge is such a big part of RPC. It SHOULD have its own category!

I've stayed in 5 club levels (assuming SL at GF is its own) and I would rate AKL and SL slightly above RPC. Ambiance aside, (RPC wins hands down there!) having the staff on the same floor gave me a more personalized feeling. I loved being greeted by name and AKL especially would always inquire about our plans and make suggestions to make them more magical. I would even rate food offerings better at AKL since a chef made them in front of you at his cooking station in the evenings! DH said if AKL was on the Monorail he would happily stay there every time.

We are trying to fit an anniversary weekend trip in July between weddings, graduations and DHs work travel. Originally DH specifically asked for SL because of the proximity to the pool and of course the Monorail. However, with the reduced Monorail hours, he is leaning back to AKL now. He's worse than me about changing his mind!

Hope everyone has a great day and happy planning!

We stayed club level in march at the CR and never got turn down service. They upgraded us so I didn't even know about it. Would have been fun though.

Turndown service mousekeepers won't come inside your room if there's a "do not disturb" sign on the door or if you're in the room. We seem to always be in our room when they come because it's during evening apps. Often we tell them to please come back after 6:00 PM to turndown the room and sometimes they don't. I don't know if they forget or if they just don't want to bother. LOL ;)

That's disappointing about the gift, but no turn down is inexcusable, like others have said :sad2:. Glad you had a nice surprise at BWI.

Glad you enjoyed BWI CL. We've never stayed at BWI, but it's on my list to try (specifically CL) as I've read a lot of positive things about it :goodvibes.

I know the feeling! Our first AKL stay back in 2010 was a 1 BR villa in Jambo Club Level and I didn't even realize it was club level. What a TOTAL waste ;)

This was us at RPC! I LOVED the scones and Devonshire cream :cloud9: so we were almost always in the room when mousekeeping came for turndown! We just invited her in and stepped out onto the balcony to get out her way. We were in the room around 3 pm for the tea in April at AKL (because while they didn't have Devonshire cream they did have some scones and I recommended they get some Devonshire cream or lemon curd!) and just invited mousekeeping in and either left for tea or stepped out onto the balcony. I never saw mousekeeping at RPC after the turndown service so I assumed they left for the day.

They only thing that did bother me at AKL were the room service trays left outside in the hall. Those seemed to sit there a LONG time and only get picked up once a day. Not sure who is/was responsible for the trays but some were putting of some interesting smells after a few hours!

Guests are supposed to call room service to come retrieve the trays. I think people just put them out and expect them to be picked up by maids.
