We recently moved to AL. I still have my FL drivers license but it will be expired when we go in march. I will only need to purchasing a ticket for my 5yo. Will i be able to use my expired license to get the florida resident hopper pass? Do they look at exp dates?

Also wanted to book one night at the all star movies with the license. What do you think?

Thanks
Cheryl

Well, I think since you are no longer a Florida resident that you are no longer eligible for Florida resident discounts so you shouldn't even try it.

Nope, they will check the expiration date.

FL resident discounts all stipulate that you need a CURRENT Florida ID. Sure, maybe one CM out of a hundred would forget to check the expiration date, but you'd feel pretty foolish the other 99 times.

Not just foolish, but out of a ticket. If you get caught, you're likely to lose the ticket altogether......

Riiiight...

I'm not one for rule-breaking, but let's be realistic. If you could save 5 bucks because you used to live there and you still had an ID, you would try it.

And lose the ticket? Let's get serious.. We're not trying to buy in bulk... I can see the conversation going something along the lines of;

"Sorry, I can't accept that, it's expired"

"That's ok really, I understand. I haven't been able to get to the DMV to get it renewed. I shouldn't even be driving I don't think! <insert fake laugh at this point> What's the cost on the non-resident ticket?"

"$xx.zz, how would you like to pay today?"

Like I said, lets get real here...

Yes Brandon let us get real.

This is stealing plain and simple. You are getting something you are not entitled to. Just when did it become permissable to do the wrong thing. I am not speaking about breaking some man made law or going against rules and regulations.

What part of "Thou Shall Not Steal" don't you understand?

Let's be realistic-I would not try it because it's not right. Obviously it's the reality in your world but certainly not mine.

I love it when people say I'm not one for rule-breaking and then proceed to give the details for how they would try and get away with rule-breaking. Obviously you are for rule-breaking when you can get away with it and it benefits you.

A thief is a thief is a thief.

I'm so tired of the posts on this board asking about how to scam Disney and how to get away with something. It's not what this board is intended for and these posts should be deleted.

When you move to a new state and go to the DMV to get your new driver's license, they either take your old license or punch a hole in it, since you're not supposed to hold two licenses at one time. This may not apply to people who have residences in more than one state, but I know it applied to us when we moved here to Michigan. I guess "snowbirds" can get a state ID in the state that they don't spend as much time in. I'm sure someone else can fill us in on this. Regardless, if you're trying to get any of your AP pass vouchers ahead of time, either through the internet or over the phone, they'll mail it to your Florida address. If you're not living there anymore, I think you'd run the risk of never receiving it. There are probably ways to get around all of this; I'm just not smart enough to figure them out! :teeth:

The OP's question has been answered, (Nope, you can't use your expired license and Yes, they will check).

Because the question has been answered and this is becoming a moral debate, I'm going to go ahead and close it.
