Title says it all. It is dated June 2010 and I'd like to avoid going to the grocery store today. Do you think its still good?

thanks,

Kim

yes. IT would likely still be good a year from now.

There's a lot of confusion even among manufacturers about "use by date" "sell by date" "best by date".

Doubt I would question it at a year old! :rotfl2: Ten years maybe ;) but not under a year.

It'll be fine. If tis "best before", it just might have lost a bit of flavour/texture, but its only a couple of weeks over! The only thing I'm really strict about is "use by" on meat/fish/dairy. For evertything else manufacturers give themselves plenty of leeway;) Its only the past 20-30 years there's been dates on things like salt, sugar and tinned goods! my MIL until recently was using up sugar she'd bought in the 1970s when there was a shortage:rolleyes1
