Expiration Date 2042, 2057???

Does anyone know what is going to happen in 2042 & 2057 when the DVC expires. Do you think Disney will offer DVC members to purchase extensions? Does anyone know what Disney plans to do?

No way to know what will happen that far away, even though i wish we could.

I think right now it really doesn't matter. In 25 years You will probably find out. Maybe they will remove the old resort and retheme it. Who Knows only time will tell.

They offered a onetime 15 year extension to OKW owners last year. I passed as I'd rather put that $$ towards points at a newer property. There is no indication that they intend to extend a similar offer to any other properties in the near future. I don't know how many bought in to it but the discussions on these boards indicated that a lot of owners were not going to accept the offer.

The DVC Board voted last September for the extension and priced it at $25 per point. They then offered an "incentive" for OKW owners to pay for the extension at $15 per point. That pricing was offered until the end of February and the price was raised to $20 per point at this time.

There has been no word whether other resorts will be offered a similar extension. At this time, all OKW purchases made thru DVC directly do have the 2057 expiration date.
