Hi all!
I haven't flown since Clinton was president, and I need help :rotfl2:!!! I've googled so much that I'm more confused than I was before.

I'm flying out of JFK on JetBlue. My daughter's and I would like to do carry on only. We're allowed 1 carry on, 1 lap top bag, and 1 purse each.
1. I found travel size shampoo, etc....am I correct in that I just put those items in a quart sized ziploc? Can I have more than 1 ziploc? Can I put one in my carry on, and one in my bag?
2. Can I bring disposable razors?
3. My daughter has a large carry on, but it's a soft fabric, so it can squish up to be smaller...is this ok? If you fluff it out, it's bigger that the alloted size. But she won't have too much in there, so we can squish.
4. If I can't, is shipping to the hotel an option?

Thanks for your help......
Shannon

We fly JetBlue frequently and they're pretty strict on carry-on size. I've seen them make people put their bags in the size checker frequently.

PP is right, you're allowed one carry-on and one personal item. I take a carry-on size suitcase and a backpack. I use a smaller messenger bag when we travel and I put that in the backpack.

Each person is allowed one quart size zip lock bag for liquids. Yes, you can bring disposable razors in your carry-on.

Thank you both. I guess I misread about the carry ons. I’m glad I checked. That second link from the first post is exactly what I was looking for. Thank you so much!!

Shannon, we fly out of PVD to MCO and the last 2 years we had carry-on's and when we got to the gate they asked us if we wanted to check them for free? We said sure that's why we always put our Magical Express tags on them in case they ask us to check them, then the luggage will be delivered, if not, then we just take the tags off at the resort. At PVD they are very nice about it. I can't comment if jetBlue will check them for free at MCO since we've flown home on SWA and are also doing the same this August. No guarantee that you will be asked if you want them checked at no charge, but just thought I'd give you a heads up.

If that’s offered and I’d the OP wants to do it, they have to make sure they have nothing needed for that first 24 hours in the bag. They want swimsuits sunscreen medications and some clothing in their personal items. Or whatever they might need. And electronics.

It’s not really a matter of being nice; they don’t have room for everyone to have a carryon, so they offer it sometimes to help reduce crowding and to speed up loading of the plane.

Thanks for the heads up! Our flight doesn’t arrive until after midnight, which is why I don’t want to check any luggage....ME doesn’t grab luggage at that time of night.

I didn't mean that they did it for us because they were nice, I just meant to say they were very nice about it.

Good point about not packing what they'd need when arriving.

You guys are helping me ALOT! I just got back from the store with quart sized bags....talk about small !

Bar of soap? In the ziploc? Didn’t see bars on the list.

Why not check just one bag, and get it yourself at MCO, and take it to the bus with you? It will add about 15 mins to your time, but it might be worth it to not have to worry about carryon sizes.
