On VWL waitlist. Was told I'm 40th in line! Anyoen have any thooughst to how long it will atke based on past experiences?
Anyoen think DVC will still be buying back contracts now with SSR sales in the mix?

I can buy extra poinst soon at bCV instead, but my heart wnats VWL. I'm in a deliema! It is an either or situation with hubby.

Thansk!

I've been on the add-on waitlist twice when I did add-ons at BWV. The first time my name came up after only about 3 weeks. The second time it took more like 8-10 months, but I was content to wait however long it took. Those points were going to be "frosting on the cake" points and not points that I felt I urgently needed right away.

I'm really surprised that you were actually told where you are on the waiting list. When I asked my guide that, he said it really doesn't work like that. He said that it would be hard to pinpoint an exact place where anyone is, because each guide keeps a separate list of his/her clients interested in add-ons. Now IF that's still the case (and I do mean if, because I have no idea), it's hard to imagine that 39 people with your same use year are ahead of you just on your guide's list. JMHO.

Any thoughts of trying the resale market for VWL? If your heart is set on more points there, it would be a shame for you to "settle" for somewhere else.

Whatever you decide, I wish you the best! :D

I was under the impression my guide had to talk to soem woman who was in charge of the vWL waitlist.
I was told only 15 peopel ahd been called off the add on waitlist for VWl in the last 6 months. Maybe this 40 means the whoel VWl waitlist and not for just my use year? If that is the case who woudl know when I'd get called. It would just be when my use year ever came up. Do you think the 40 is for all of VWL or just my use year?
I just really don't know what to do!

Gee, I'm sorry I can't be more help, lenshanem. What you're being told is totally different than what my experience was with the waitlist process. My guide kept his own list and said that he checked regularly to see if any ROFR, foreclosures, etc. had made points available so he could "jump on them" for his clients. So I just said to call me when you have this many BWV points, and that's what he did.

There are definitely others around here who have had add-on waitlist success. Let's bump this back up to see if someone else can shed more light on this for you.

Have you ruled out a resale? Sounds like you may want to seriously look into that in order to get VWL pts. as soon as you can. Or call your guide back and pin him/her down on what exactly goes on with the waitlist.

Again, good luck to you! :D

Ya know, it's possible (perhaps not probable) that the first 39, or some portion of them, are waiting for contracts of 150 points. They would likely just be glazed over if a 100 point job came in...

Thanks travelbug and Maistre Gracey. I think when my guide gets back I'll try to ask him more questions about the waitlist. I have already given him my CC for when the BCV points coem through so I really need to let him know ASAP. I'm such an imaptient perosn, but i really want thsoe vWL points! If only I had a clue, I mean is there a possibilty we'll never be called? At soem point, the price of $84 won't be worth it. Or evn worse will they up the price to the going SSR price for add ons elsewhere?
I ahven't really looked at resales cause I only had money for down payment, was just gonna add the rest onto our financing.
