Experiences upgrading GAD ticket?

Can I buy a 5 day ticket with a package and then use my GAD voucher to discount upgrading the ticket to a DAP?

I know the instructions say you can't combine a voucher with an existing ticket, so I shouldn't be able to, but has anyone done it?

I know I can use the voucher to buy a discounted 5 day ticket at the window and then upgrade it to a DAP. But what happens if I already have a ticket (via a package)? (I don't want the GAD FP option.)

My goal is to get a DAP with a GAD discount. I also want to take advantage of the 5 days for 3 package deals, meaning that I have to buy tickets. Is it possible to take advantage of the 5/3 deal and the GAD discount?

Do not quote me, but I THINK you can:

*Use your GAD on Day 1

*That same day, take your UNUSED 5-day hopper to the AP Processing center and use it (kind of like cash) to upgrade your GAD to a DAP.

Unfortunately, you will miss Magic Morning. (But you'll save $72, so that's good. Plus you'll get your AP discounts right away!)

Also, I don't foresee this being a problem for your case, but if the value of your hopper plus the value of your GAD is more than the price of a DAP, then you might have trouble upgrading. (I'm not sure about that, but I know that you can't upgrade a ticket to an AP that costs LESS.) But if you get 5 days for the price of 3, then your hopper should only be worth $184-$204, I think, so that plus $72 is less than the price of a DAP. I think you'll be fine there.
