Experiences for Disney Fanatic?

Not exactly sure where to post this! DD is 15 and already knows she wants to be an Imagineer, possibly designing something like waiting lines for rides. Our next trip is in October, and she was really hoping to do the Keys to the Kingdom tour, but she’ll be three months shy of the required 16 age limit. I’m not willing to pay for Backstage Magic (plus her friend is coming with us and is on a budget). I’d love to do the Dine with an Imagineer (I assume a 15yo has to be accompanied by an adult?), but this seems incredibly hard to get. Other suggestions for experiences that would help add a special touch to our trip? She’s more into the history and nostalgia of Disney than things like behind the scenes at AK. We’re DVC members if that helps.

DD loved Dine with an Imagineer when she was 14 or 15. I would definitely try to get it: it will help if you're staying on property, so you get 180 + 10.

Marceline to Magic Kingdom is cheaper (and shorter) than KttK or Backstage Magic, and it does include a behind-the-scenes look at HM that people love. She's also old enough for it.

I highly recommend Lunch with An Imagineer at HS. We've never had a hard time getting in ( 3 times now ). Just because it's at HS doesn't mean it won't be about the rest of the 'world'.

Two words — The Void at Disney Springs.

We’ve done both the Star Wars and Wreck it Ralph options and they are both superb. We will always do this on all future trips to WDW (we are DVC also..)

Agree with the above that Marceline is great! I liked Marceline better then Keys even! Enjoy your vacation.

We also really liked The Void, very immersive VR games. I would say, however, that if your DD is looking for something where she will get inside information, or get to ask questions, The Void is just a VR experience.

I wonder how closely Disney follows that rule? If you called and asked about KttK and she is only a few months shy (and her friend is 16), maybe they would make an exception? I'm not expert in that area, though.

Thanks for the Marcelline suggestion. I’d noticed that and wondered if it’s worthwhile. Glad to know it is!

Hmm, I checked the Dine with an Imagineer availability just the other day for September (and at least 3 weeks back into August) and nothing was available any of the dates. I’ll certainly try to book at exactly 180 days. Wonder if I’d have better luck calling?

I’ve never heard of The Void. Thanks, I’ll check it out.

DD’s friend is younger so will just be over 15, so I’m sure Disney wouldn’t allow it. I get the impression they’re sticklers in such things.
