We recently booked a R/T flight from AC to MCO for this Feb. Usually, we leave from EWR or LGA, but the fare was too good to pass up. I don't know aything about this airport....anyone care to share their experiences flying in/out of Atlantic City?

my inlaws have flown out of this airport several times and like it. Nice and small, easy to navigate, parking is cheap. i assume you are flying spirit? we flew them out of newark (when they used to fly out of there) and had no problems.

We have flown Spirit out of AC only twice, both times post 911. I prefer AC to Phila or Newark. There are long lines fro security but they go very fast. Parking and Security are much easier. I also like the ease of getting your seat online. They are almost never cx for snow also due to being so close to the coast. There are many times PHL is closed and AC is open. The only problem I find is lack of flight times.

We have flown out of Atlantic City a few times. Small airport but very nice. They have been doing alot of improvements on it the past few years. Getting through security can be a little slow, but nothing un-manageable.

A friend flew out of AC on Spirit and loved the small size of the AC airport and the closeness of the parking lot to the airport - also the cheapness of the parking. She said she will definitely do it again and recommended that I do it as well. Prices are much better than out of Newark.

Flew out of AC in October, 2004. Excellent experience. Parking was a real pleasure compared to Newark. The night we returned was very foggy and Newark was experiencing over 90 minute delays. We landed on time in AC. Can't beat that!

...mention the parking fee. Do they mean for leaving/ picking up, or do y'all mean extended parking?? We will be departing at 7:30 PM Sun and returning at 10:15 AM the following Sat. About how much should I expect to pay?? Also, any incidences with cars left in long-term parking?? Sorry, this is all new to me. We either drive everywhere we travel, I drop off whomever is flying at the departure doors and unload the passengers THERE, or, we simply take a limo to EWR/JFK/LGA..

I'm not sure what the parking fee is because my husband was paying it but I know it is posted on the Web site. The long term parking is very low compared to PHL etc. The drop off is very easy, no hassle. The short term parking is just about 20 steps from the door. The long term parking is a short walk. It is so close to terminal. The parking is one of the pleasures of AC. You will not find any problems with this.

You pay 4.25 per day to park there. I have flown ACY to MCO 5 times and am going again in Feb, May and November. I love flying Spirit out of ACY. The fares are normally low and I have never had a bad experience. I think you will enjoy it!

Re: parking. If you use a credit card in the machine when you first enter, you don't need to keep track of a ticket. Just use the same credit card when you leave. They just charge the stay to your card. This is really nice when you get in late.

my brother has flown out of AC and left his car there for a week with no instances.

I will be flying out of AC in April and I have the early am flt. Can anyone recommend a nearby hotel/motel that is clean and reasonable. Thanks for your help. :flower:

Sure Can:)

When we fly out of AC, we stay the night before at the AC Airport EconoLodge.

The hotel is actually about 10 mins. or so from the airport, but it is clean and reasonable. One nice thing is that this hotel has jacuzzi tubs in each room. (basically it's a huge tub with 4 jets, not a "true jacuzzi", but nice just the same)

With luggage in tow, it's easier to have a ground floor room, so it may be a good idea to request one in advance.

We fly spirit out of AC all the time. In fact we went in Dec and we're going again in April. Great services almost always on time if not a little early. Usually no problem parking. One thing to remember though is do not leave the parking ticket in the car (we found out the hard way ). You have to validate the ticket in the terminal. You will love AC airport just a quick trip down the parkway and usually no traffic unless its a weekend in the summmer

I found this out, the hard way, too. After parking and walking across the parking lot, which, BTW, if you have a lot of luggage, I would suggest getting dropped off at the terminal with all the luggage, and then parking the car, anyway, we were almost to the terminal when I saw the sign telling you to make sure you had your parking ticket with you, since you need it when you leave the TERMINAL not the parking lot! I had to walk all the way back to the car (this was on a very windy day in November!)

To answer the OPs question...we flew out of AC, on Spirit, for the first time in November, and had no complaints. As a matter of fact, my DH was a little apprehensive about flying out of AC on Spirit (we always flew out of Philly). After this trip, when I was looking for airfare for our December trip, I asked him if he would fly with Spirit again, and he said definitely YES. He would rather fly out of AC than Philly any day! I already booked our December trip...got $153 air fare...couldn't pass that up!

You will love the smaller airport and the cheaper, more convenient parking. He went to get the luggage and I went to the machine to pay for parking...he was done before I was! That will NEVER happen in Philly!
