After dialling 10+ times and getting "all circuits busy" messages I was on hold at 407-WDW-DINE from 7:30 to 8:30 and then got cut off...on hold again now :headache: That's what happens when the 1st day of my stay is also the 1st day of Free Dining.

We're not even getting the DDP but there are a couple of special meals I want to book since we're going with 1st timers. I have to leave for work in a few minutes and was thinking that if I don't get to a CM before that I would have to wait until getting home again since I can't dial long-distance from work and don't have enough cell phone minutes to be on hold for an hour but then realized I can call the MS 800 number from work. Luckily I just need to be at my desk but don't have any real work today...of course it may be a horror trying to get ADRs through MS too. What have people's experiences been, calling MS for ADRs?

We have always had good luck calling MS for ADR's, never had any problems getting what we ask for. Good luck! :thumbsup2

I had the same issue with busy circuits this morning and finally gave up. I called MS around 9:20 and was able to book everything I wanted for the week of Aug 16 through 22, just not on the nights I had planned for two of them and just reversed them.

I need to call Disney today and can't get through. Not even calling for ADRs. I am doing a split stay w/ AKV 8/13-16, then BCV 8/16-22 and was able to make all of my ADRs last Friday on my checkin for 8/13. Glad I did. And I didn't even have to pay to call since I was in WDW for vacation, I called from the room phone and got right through! I needed to call the passholder number today and can't get through as the system seems to have crashed today.

I'm on with a very nice CM right now and she's making my ADRs for me! I was afraid that she would transfer me over to the main dining line...and she can't get me some of the ADRs that I want...but still, it's a real person after 90 minutes of being on hold!

Just got off the phone with MS and was told I couldn't make ADRs because they were doing some type of maintenance and the systems suddenly said "temporary unavailable" :scared1:

I was told to call back later but was never told how much later!

We'll see what happens popcorn::

I guess the online system isn't up yet?

So glad I was able to book ADRs for our 10 day trip last week (the last four nights overlap free dining).

I usually try to make all of my ADRs at 7am by calling the WDW-DINE number and luckily it's always worked out. I have called MS and have found them to be very helpful.

You were able to make your ADRs for both segments of your trip? From everything I have heard, read, or been told, you can only make the ADRs for the second part of the trip at the 90 day mark for THAT trip. Some will say that the reservations are linked, and others will tell you that the system doesn't allow that.:confused3

And it was Member Services that you called, right?

Can you ask him to book me a table for 4 at CRT on 8/16. Say 5:30.

Yes, I've been reading those threads and I've not had any problem making my ADRs for split stays. We are going in July and starting one day at the AKV then switching to VWL and didn't have any problem making all of my ADRs with the AKV one night stay for 90 +10. Then last Friday I called to make ADRs for my split stay with AKV 8/13-16 and BCV 8/16-21 and got all of my ADRs with the 90 +10 based on my first stay at AKV. I keep reading the threads, but I've not had a problem at all. I have called the regular WDW dine number around 7:00AM each time. I've not called MS. They find my reservation because they repeat it back to me, but I've not had any problem with getting all of my ADRs with my split stay. I guess I've gotten really good CMs who know how to use the new system better than most. I'm so glad I got to make all of my ADRs on Friday because today sounded like a mess.

BTW--wanted to mention that I am not on the DDP for either reservation. (if that matters)

I talked to 3 different CMs today, one at DVC MS and 2 on the WDW-DINE line (10 minute waits around 3 and 4 pm) and none of them could make my reservation for the 2nd half of my split stay! They all said that the computer wouldn't let them...maybe because they have us down for DDP for the 1st half of the stay. Hmmm...I was planning to cancel DDP anyway so maybe I'll try doing that first thing tomorrow and then see what happens.

The online system was supposed to be up today but it wasn't--here's a thread all about it. http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2174824&page=14
Also the phone system crashed for a while this morning--that's why people were getting cut off after being on hold over an hour...

I have used MS for dining ressies since becoming a member many years ago. Why would I pay for a phone call (long distance from California) if I don't need to? I assumed all members did that.

Lots of people use cell phones or otherwise have free long distance. When you use MS, you're paying for it (out of your dues).

Also MS opens only at 9, while WDW-DINE opens at 7, and if you're trying for hard-to-get ADRs it could make a difference. I don't know what availability was like at 7 today, but at 10 am there were times available (that I didn't take) that were no longer available at 3 pm.

If you don't have nationwide long distance, yes, the toll free MS number is an advantage to you, and you should use it. However, many phones now have nationwide free calling. If you have that, please don't call the toll free number, if possible. If you call an 800 number, even if you have free long distance, the party you call still has to pay a per minute charge.

For those with free long distance, you can still use Member Services, but please call the toll 407-566-3800 number.
