Planning a trip for my family of 4 (dd 4, ds 2) for Fall 2012. Question: is Sept. too hot for 2 toddlers? Would mid Oct. be better? Either way we get to enjoy Halloween at Disney, but I was hoping for either free dining or a good discount. Do you think its more likely to get a good discount in Sept over Oct? I know its too early to know for sure about 2012 discounts but going by past years .....which is more likely? Thanks for your help Disney peeps!:flower3:

Also, is Pop a better fit for toddlers than POFQ?

Sept or Oct could and will have some warm days. Best time to go in my opinion and may have deals would be September. The Food and Wine Fest begins the latter part of September and October is busy F&W season so the deals may be limited or non existent at this time....

I would have to say the end of Sept would be better. Especially if you are wanting to catch the free dining. The heat is not too bad. Well, I say it is not too bad, but I am from the south. So my bad and your bad might be totally different!

I am from Michigan. I have went in September. It is really humid and it rained briefly most every day. If you don't do well in the heat you will likely be uncomfortable. On the upside, September is more likely to have some discounts.

As far as rain goes....I have been at the end of Sept 2 years and it only rained for about 5 minutes one day during the first trip. The second trip it rained our last night. Starting about 2 hours before the park closed. Humid yes!! You will see others having trips where it rained the whole time. Or like the pp said it rained everyday, but not the whole time. So...it is the luck of the draw with rain.

We have done early Sept,& Mid October. Its the luck of the draw! Our last October trip was hotter than our August trips, it was HOT!!!!!! We love Sept as most kids are in school, the lines are short! Our October trip was busier than I though it would be, kids from out east were on fall break along with the Michigan kids. Still fun but busier than Sept.

We love POFQ with a stroller, its easy to get around, compact, etc. I would stay there and maybe when they are older try a value like Pop. Dd loves Pop but she is 10. Check the discount reports part of this board. It sounds like free dining is being released again soon. Your kids will love MNSSHP, its our favorite. I am trying to squeeze it in before our cruise!

we went Sept 12 last year. yes it was hot on a couple of days nothing to complain of. No real rain to speak of, lines very short. the longest we waited was for Dumbo. the entire trip was fantastic. ENJOY it!!! don't over worry on things you cannot control like the weather..You can't bet on the weather! when have you ever known a weather man to be correct?!? :thumbsup2
i had every detail planned out to the T once we got to the parks it was out the window just walked around and if it looked interesting we did it. it was the best time we spent as a family!!!

My feelings exactly! Our first trip I had every minute planned out. Then we walked in the MK and DH said where is the plans. I told him plans what plans!! :rotfl:

I'm a Floridian - born and raised - and I'd say October is best - BUT you can do September if you plan well (breaks, cool clothes, etc) - you will still probably have to do a lot of this in September, but October won't be AS hot. We went in October last year with a 11/12 month old and she did great! Also, it seems that there is free dining (released dates today) for October. EIther way - you will have a blast - just plan for the heat :)

Sept and early october it can still be upper 90's-100. Storm season is strong through end of October/ Early Nov....but the later you go (and the LO aren't in school so take advantage now) the less humid it is and the less frequent the rain is.
