Experience with Wait Lists

I have a reservation for Saratoga Springs for March but I really wanted a value studio at AKL. I am waitlisted for AKL...anyone have success on a waitlist? I've never used waitlisting before. I would still be OK with Saratoga in case it doesn't work out. It shows two nights not available during my dates.

If you switch to a savanna view or something with more rooms in a category, you will have better luck.

There is availability for other rooms but I didn't have enough points. I did purchase some one time points but I don't want to borrow because we have other trips planned. Thanks for the suggestion though!

The shorter the wait list, the better the chances, IMO. I've gotten NYE using a wait list, then booked other days either as they come along, or with wait listing one night at a time. For this coming NYE, I piece mealed a 5 night stay, right where I wanted it, BLT and OKW. All that at less than 7 months!

Usually I do not check, but just this week, I noticed 2 nights I wait listed for were available. So, I got what I wanted, but not using the wait list. I think others here have mentioned this, the wait list does not "grab" what you wait list for as soon as it is available. So, others without a wait list actually grab the reservation you want.
