I hope this is the right forum for this post. I wanted to share my experience with having to change resorts for our upcoming trip in September 2020. I had called WDW to provide some updated flight info for DME to/from the airport, and the rep surprised me with the news that the Polynesian Village would still be closed to overnight guests at the time of our trip. I obviously hadn't been following reopening updates very closely, but I was also surprised that I hadn't received any communication from WDW about the obvious need to change things up. The rep was very patient and understanding as we talked through options. GF would have been our second choice, but it also won't open until after we've left, and there was nothing available at GF's villas. Only option left was CR, and she booked us into a tower room with a view of Bay Lake. After a bit more chatting about our trip, she asked me to hold on for a few minutes. When she came back on the line, she told me that she'd been able to secure a coveted MK view room in the tower - such a nice surprise!

The info switched over almost immediately on the My Plans page of the app and website, and I received a new confirmation email a couple fo days later (an expected delay, based on what the rep told me). Since we had a standard room at the Polynesian, there would normally have been a significant price increase, even with a Bounceback offer, but in this case the total is the same.

I'd be interested to hear from others who've gone through this process.
