I just spent way too much time figuring out how to spend only $145 out of pocket to fly my family of four from MSP to MCO for our next trip. As part of my plan, I'm transferring a bunch of (essentially useless to me) Marriott Rewards points to Southwest so they can be used as Rapid Rewards points instead. Marriott says this process could take up to 6 weeks, but the internet tells me it only takes a couple of days. Wondering if anyone has any experiences they care to share? How long did it take for the transfer to occur?

If anyone wants a data point, my points transfer has gone through, so it took less than 20 hours to complete.

:)

I don't know if it was the most efficient use of Marriott Rewards, as it's not a 1:1 transfer. I used 30,000 MR points to get 12,000 SW Rapid Rewards points, which almost covered a leg of the trip that cost $222. For 30,000 MR you could get a room just slightly more expensive than that. But since my company is moving away from Marriott properties (and that's how I rack up my points), those MR are just going to sit there and likely won't increase much, so I figured converting them to Rapid Rewards was a good use for me.

Aww man, I have 37,000 and that would have just about covered my rt ticket. I had enought points for 4 rt and had to pay for 1. I'll remember this for next time!!
