Just curious anyone who recently sold a DVC contract...can you tell about your experience and how long it took? Thank you!

I just sold a 75 point VWL contract. I contacted TTS on a Tuesday, July 30th. I signed the paperwork within hours of receiving it. The property was listed Saturday, August 3rd. It sold for full price within 24 hours. Went through ROFR which took about 28 days. We closed September 28th. I received payment Tuesday, October 15th.

Due to the deliberate delays caused by Disney, a resale takes about 75 days for the seller or the buyer.

Can anyone with a recent resale tell about how long it is taking to get resale points loaded on your account by Disney? I closed on a Hilton Head contract on 10/1, deed recorded 10/9, sent to Disney 10/10. I knew it was early to check, but I called MS yesterday and all that is showing up under me is my original contract and not the new one. I am wanting to use the points to book a May trip at BLT that I could book this week, if the points were there. Of course they're not. Just curious what the average wait time has been lately.

Side info - our contract was sent to Disney 8/02 and it took them until 9/5 to notify us that we passed ROFR. They blamed it on Labor Day Holiday. We're 79 days in since we signed the contract and now just waiting on our points.

If you use a major broker, the process is painless

If you price it right, the process is painless

If the contract is under 300 points, the process is painless

If you ignore the above advice, the process will be painful

I have a contract that has 315 points that I was considering listing at some point... does that automatically make it painful?

Thanks,
Geoff

I think if you price it right and use a good broker it will sell. I've noticed some pretty big contracts selling at a decent price.

not automatically, it is just harder to sell a larger contract than a smaller contract and the price per point will be lower than a smaller contract

it is a simple supply and demand curve as more people want smaller contracts and less people want larger contracts

if you price it cheap then it wont be painful at all
