Instead of waiting for the dessert party has anyone just gone to Epcot after their reception? Would Disney allow a ticket cost to be factored into the wedding day expenditures? Don't they offer reduced rate conference tickets for after 4? Are there tickets only for Epcot? Or are conference rates valid at any park?

Do you mean like you and your guests go to the park to ride rides or see attractions while waiting for your dessert party? You would not be allowed to wear your dress in this case, I don't know about discounted tickets. Wedding guests receive a discount on tickets so I don't know if you can purchase convention tickets because you are not a convention. Now if it is like an hour ahead then I am sure you can arrange to have drinks and maybe hors d'ouevres before the desserts at your dessert party location.

I don't have a specific answer for your question. I do know if you decided to go to Epcot after your reception you could. HOWEVER, you would not be allowed to go into Epcot in your wedding gown and any one else in wedding attire. I hope that helps.

I had asked a similar question to DFTW. I wanted to take our guests to Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party in the evening instead of a dessert party. To be included in the minimum expenditure the answer was no, then maybe, then let me look into it, then no again. We ultimately dropped the idea because of cost, but if you push the envelope you might be able to get somewhere. HTH :goodvibes

That's a bummer. A good majority of our guests live in Florida or visit family there enough that I'd say about half will have annual passes. I didn't know if instead of charging the $12.95 illuminations viewing fee for the dessert party that they'd let me just buy full tickets for the others and head on in early. Sounds like it's probably a no.

If your guests have admission and come in through a ticket turnstile than you won't be charged for them, they can meet you at the dessert party location. You guests can go to the park if they choose, it's just you that can not run around in your dress. If your guests want to use their tickets and go in for a few hours before they can, it just won't be a structured event, they will be on their own to do what they like.
