Yesterday afternoon (4/15) She opened. Besides hair ties bring cleaned up and a wall behind removed at the exit.. I did not see anything different. Please update me if I missed something.

So - still disco yeti?
Joe Rohde has explained that in order to repair Betty, the Disco Yeti, they would have to dismantle the mountain and the track before they could get to her base to repair the crack. It's a sad failure of the design engineering - they didn't estimate the forces correctly.

I count myself privileged to have seen the original Yeti show - it was impressive!!

Instead of fixing, can they add a new one in easier? Put Disco Yeti in the standby queue.
The problem is not with the Yeti itself. The problem is that the Yeti's base is cracked, and if the Yeti performed its intended swipe down at the train, it could fall onto the train. In order to fix it, they would have to dismantle the mountain and the track before they could even get to the Yeti itself. It's just the way the ride is built.

I get that. I meant a new install somewhere else.

Oh, sorry, I thought you meant take Disco Yeti out and put it into the standby queue somewhere, then put a new Yeti onto the base of Disco Yeti. Do you mean put a new Yeti somewhere else along the roller coaster track? I have no idea whether that's possible.

I thought there was smarty pants student that figured out how they could do it... Disney just doesn't want to spend money on it.
I just dont understand how it was closed for months to see no real change.

They're not going to close a marquee attraction for months and do nothing. Dunking on them without knowing what was wrong, or incorrectly speculating what they were doing, is unfair. For all we know, there was a major electrical problem that needed repairing. Or a problem with the braking system. Neither of those would be noticeable to a park-goer.

My understanding it was to upgrade the ride control electronics
