Does anyone know when this ride opens? I heard early 2006, but what month? Thanks in advance.
Tim

NOt sure but it's pretty much done now.

They are even running the coaster empty now.

The theming is pretty much complete.

I would bet that they would do a soft opening before official opening.

what is the Exibition everest you speak of?

i only know of expadition Everest :rolleyes1

Hey Mecha,

I corrected my misspelling, you might want to correct yours. Thanks for pointing that out. ;-)

I think the official opening might be April 22nd, with soft openings happening before.

A lot of times, though, they might have soft openings for a little while and then close the ride for a while before the grand opening.

We saw them running cars last week. I was surprised by the speed of the trains. It looked more like BTMRR than RnRC. I have read betwen 50-60 MPH's but it did not look like it was going that fast. Maybe slower for testing? I don't know. Either way the mountain looks amazing!!!

I was really hoping for a chance to ride this March 17th to 20. Hoping they have a DVC soft opening or something.

Any guesses if this wish might come true?

Remember that about 70% of the attraction is indoors and it may be faster in there. I did read while there, on the sign that it does go backwards.

The Grand opening press event in April 6-8. The dates are tentative but thats the latest.

It does go backwards in a portion.
The ride was clocked at something like 57 MPH or in around that area. That figure however is unofficial.
The height is 80 feet for the drop and the mountain is almost 200.
