I was wondereing if I would enjoy expedition everest at AK.
I'm 15 and I really enjoy space mountain and big thunder mountain, but I don't know if I'll like going backwards on EE. and are the drops bigger than the drops on space mountain or splash mountain?
so for everyone who has gone on EE, is it really that bad?
Thanks. :)

Yes the drops are bigger. It's fun and surprising. If you love Space and Splash mountains, you will love EE. My 7 and 9 year olds love it. I had to ride it with them 8 times in a row last year.

If you can handle the drop on Splash Mtn, then you'll have no problem with the EE drop. Since it curves towards the bottom, the drop isn't worse than anything on Big Thunder, although it looks high.

The backwards part is a little dissorienting. It does sort of feel like you're going upside down, similar to the R n'R. It's over pretty quickly though, so even if you're a little bit worried, I'd say give it at least one shot to say you rode it.

It is a fun attraction and I found was a little more intensa than Space Mountain in my opinion.Going backwards for a bit adds to the fun.:goodvibes:goodvibes

Its definitely a more intense attraction, but as others have said if you have done Space and Splash mountain you will be fine. The going backwards part is very short and only happens once. The best part is the view from the front row on the train at the mountain top, I could see all of WDW, it was cool. :cool2:

You'll love it! The backwards part is no big deal. I had a blast on it, and I'm a Grandma! The themeing is fantastic also. Go have fun!

I always loved thunder mountain & space mountain, but have never gone on splash. Last trip I decided to be brave & give it a try & it really isn't bad. Like a previous poster said that big drop doesn't feel as scary as it looks, 'cause it turns before you really start to feel it.

I watched a video of the ride through on youtube & then went & I don't regret it and I'm a wimp! It's great. I would say it's a combination of thunder & space with like 40 seconds of a stronger intensity in the dark.

You can do it. :thumbsup2

I rode Expedition Everest like 8 times last summer. It was probably one of if not my favorite ride at WDW. ITs not as intense as it looks. It doesnt go upside down and the backwards part is actually pretty killer. You are in a cave for part of the ride so it isnt as hot. The Yeti doesnt really work anymore so that is a bummer but if you know it is there than you can imagine it moving i guess.

I think you should try it. If you don't like it then don't ride it again. I'm pretty sure you can handle it at least once though. You may end up loving it and wanting to ride over and over again... my 15 year old DS does! :goodvibes

Hi

I went on EE last year. I love Space Mountain and Splash Mountain, but I hated EE. I got that funny feeling as you go down the drop, the one where your stomach at the top but your at the bottom. I was sitting next to my brother the whole way and would not let go off his arm.

Went on last week for the first time and HATED it. DD7 and I were in the last seat, so maybe that made a difference, but my head shook so bad while we went backwards that my brain felt scrambled for hours after. DH couldn't take my complaining about it! :lmao: Seriously, though, it was intense for me, and I've been on plenty of intense roller coasters in my life. Maybe my old age is catching up with me.

I have been on it 5 times so far.
I felt dizzy after the first time because of the backwards part but since then I have actually turned in my seat and faced backwards during that portion and it has been okay ever since.

The drop is cool and the Yeti is great (when it was working before)

Oh gosh, I don't think that could be too safe!
I definitely wouldn't do that. I believe you are risking a back injury.

The fun anticipation is going up to the top...oh boy...looking over to see how high you are is indeed a fun tummy flop. After that, the rest goes really fast!!! Go for it!

Im a 14 year old girl and I LOVE big tunder mountain but HATE space mountail

I LOVED LOVED LOVED Expedition Everest!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If your worried about going backwards Id just close my eyes, you cant tell that your going backwards when your eyes are closed;)

Do it! If you don't like it, then you don't have to ride it again. It won't ruin your day. I have ALWAYS regretted the trips I took where I was too wimpy to go on a really awesome ride. I skipped RnR on my first trip because I wasn't sure if I would like it, but then when I went on it during the second trip, I LOVED IT!! Unfortunately, it was down on the next trip! Don't miss your chance!

Some people find the backwards part horrible but others don't see what all the fuss is about. I'm in the second camp..doesn't bother me in the least. Oddly enough, my Dad is prone to motion sicknes, and the backwards part didn't bother him either.:confused3

I love this ride, it's my favorite.:thumbsup2

Guess what? You already paid for it with your admission ticket so you are not losing anything by going on it. Also, as you get older you tend to regret the things you didn't do while younger. Not the things you did do. So I say throw caution to the wind and just go on it.
