Expedition Everest previews

What is the deal? I know that last weekend was for season pass holders (we couldn't go cuz my son has a broken arm). Is it still in preview? Who can ride? anyone in the park? I got a very broad answer from an operator at WDW and didn't think it was right. If I go down in 3 weeks, will I be able to preview it? Also, is it a lap belt or a shoulder harness? COuld my son go on it with his cast? Thanks!

We were there on Wednesday, and it was evening EMH. Around 6, a crowd gathered at the EE entrance b/c the rumor was they were filming a commercial and they might let people ride. Well abut 10 minutes later, they opened the rope and let people in! You could only ride if you had a EMH armband on. It went from no line/walk right on, to a short wait, and then back to a walk right all within the 30 min or so we were there. There weren't many people at the park anyway, and so the crowds were easy for them to manage, and they had the CMs there to run the ride and shop. Also there were a lot of Disney executives there asking people what they thought of the ride. By the way, it was GREAT!

And I'm 99% sure it was lap bars, so I can't see why your DS couldn't ride. But as far as when they'll open it, it's hard to say.
