We watched expedition everest" a journey to sacred lands ",last evening on the travel channel at 9pm. During the commercials they said that this is a 5 part series. The next one is on tomorrow(todayMonday at 9pm). I looked at the tv guide on the tv and the line up at the travel channel.com-nothing states it. Am I going nuts???? On yesterdays show they did not finish with where the idea came up with to make the ride. We did not even see the ride . This is why it was a 5 part series.
Is anyone else confused?
Thanks

It's a great show, I also think that the detail is fantastic and can't wait to see it! I, however am the worlds BIGGEST CHICKEN and will not be riding it! I am sure that they have a "chicken" exit somewhere near the front of the ride for those of us that just want to see the details without riding the ride. The whole backward thing has given me second thoughts..I can barely stand going forward! any other chickens out there?

Great show tonight! I'm so glad we watched it together. It's amazing the detail that went into making the ride. Don't forget to catch the next part 3 of the 4 part series on Wednesday on the Discovery Channel. Clink on the link below for the schedule.

Thanks I missed last night's show, I made a note about the next two show's thanks again :thumbsup2

thanks- did anyone watch it last night? I guess we will watch it wed at 8pm. THe kids are looking forward to seeing it done.
Thanks again!!

OK, I'll be the first one, but that Travel Channel show did absolutley nothing for me at all. First of all Joe Rohde drives me nuts. He is such a phony and he essentially made the show about himself.

Now the Science Channel Joe??? That was GREAT!!!!! :cool1:

I CAN'T WAIT TO RIDE THAT THING

See now this grates my nerves. I don't have the science channel :( So I missing it. ARGH.

I believe they are reshowing the Science channel episode on the regular Discovery channel, Wed at 8pm.

I thought both specials were interesting. The first one showing what they did to collect all the research, the second giving so much details on the ride. It has built up my excitement :woohoo: and I can't wait for December to get here.

I saw the program on the Journey to the Sacred Land and the show last night on the making of the ride. There are more episodes to this? :confused3 I saw it listed to run again on the Science Channel and the Discovery Channel, but just thought that they were replaying the same episodes. So there is more to it? I want to make sure I set my dvr for it.

Yup. I rode it for the AP preview and I was fine until it went backwards. Then it just freaked me out and I was terrified for the rest of the ride. The combination of backwards, in pitch black and a lot of pressure from the speed just did me in. I was really shaky for quite a while after getting off of it.

We've watched both shows after riding EE during our trip last week. We found both very interesting, especially the Science Channel one which talked about how the ride worked, so catch the replay on Discovery if you can. I would be embarrassed to tell the Imagineers who worked so hard on the ride how little of the detail we picked up on, but it was a great ride!

For those who are leery of riding, I am not a huge roller coaster person and I normally get the big "stomach drop" feeling from going backward so I was very nervous, but I did not really have trouble with this ride. We rode twice, once before lunch (stomachs were probably pretty empty as we hadn't had much breakfast) and once less than an hour after lunch, and we actually felt much better afterwards riding it on a full stomach. After the first ride I felt a little discombobulated briefly, not nauseous just slightly woozy, and I didn't feel that way at all after the second ride. dh felt a little woozy both times, he attritubed it to the steep uphill portion during the backwards ride. It didn't affect anyone long term, and our kids (10 and 7) had no problems whatsoever and rode twice as well, even though the 7 year old really doesn't like roller coasters.

The next show is on Saturday night on Animal Planet. It is 2 hours, starting at 8 or 9. Corwin's Quest, it is called. we love Jeff Corwin and cannot wait to see it.

The making of the ride show was awesome!! We cannot wait to get there and see everything firsthand. I hope the FP queue does not bypass too much, we will probably FP the ride and will be disappointed if we miss out on alot of the queue detail, since that is one of our favorite things about Disney. But I think the standby line for EE will just be too long....we won't be running there in the morning....2 babies in strollers and my 70-year-old mother...too much to do a sprint. hehe :teeth:

Thanks for all the updates on the shows. I don't get Science Channel but Discovery and Animal Planet I do! I saw the first "episode" and like another poster, I am ashamed at all the detail I missed! Can't wait to go on EE again and look for all the fun stuff.

For the ones afraid to ride. I HATE backwards coasters but this was not bad at all. Really fun. Loved it. :teeth:

I wish I was there right now!

Saw last night's show it was great, I liked seeing how they made everything. Can't wait till August to ride it, that is if we go :goodvibes
