Emergency question!

OK so I am all good to go, but the other team that was running with us is suddenly 1 lady short. She had a LOT of health problems and she just couldn't do it... we JUST found this out, so we have one sole runner in the other team. We have another friend that lives very close to Disney and she'd be glad to pick up the bib for the lady that can't make it and run with our other friend that is still coming. The only problem is:

1- the lady that dropped out probably won't be able to get us the release waiver to pick up her packet on time.

2- I am at a loss on what could be done since it isn't my registration.

Any ideas?!?

Hi all!

I can not believe that I will be at AKL in 4 days. Dh has never been to a Disney race so he has no idea what to expect and is going to be depending on me to know what is going on.

I don't know what to tell you about registration but my final instructions state that they have packet pickup on Saturday as well if that helps.

Oh, and I am going to be wearing my WISH shirt for this race so I hope everyone comes up and says hi. DH is doubtful that any of you really exist.

I'm getting really excited! I still haven't told my kids I'm going. I guess I'll tell them tonight now that I've booked a weekend for the family in January. I'm hoping they won't get too upset and I can save that secret until later though! Two more days and I'll be seeing AKL for the first time!!

I just found you Expedition Everst racers! DH and DS12 will be doing the race, too. DH will probably be the biggest man on the journey - 6'7" and weighs????. He plans to walk this and has been training. Cheer him on if you see him. He doesn't have a WISH shirt but will be wearing a red Warriors 24 shirt as will ds - it's there baseball uniform practice shirts!

My mom and I will be cheering them on and we will all be partying after the race. We are super excited to be in AK at night!

Since this is our first race, we can we expect as spectators and what is the after race party like?

Lori I will try to remember!!! Red 24 Warrior. I hope it says Warrior on the back too but I'm guessing it will say 24 on the back at least and be RED! I'm repeating in the hopes that I will cement it in my tired brain

See everyone there!!!! If I don't spot you at the Expo then definitely at the race start. I will be watching for the AKL group too arrive.

I'll be using a pink sling bag around the parks and have this metal tag that is LIME and actually says WISH. It's an old Hallmark gift tag and it's the word cut out. I will also be wearing my WISH bracelet that has black writing on it so it's a bit different than those friend sort of bracelets and easier to spot. Feel free to say Hi if you spot us.

I know we are heading to DTD tomorrow to meet a friend for dinner at Raglan Road.

Friday I think we are heading to Epcot to check out the F&W start after we do the Expo.

Saturday morning to early afternoon we are planning on hitting the Hollywood Studios. Actually 1st up once we arrive at the park will be to visit the Starring Rolls for a bite, I just visited this place in May and want to check it out again so if you are in the area give a hello.

I will be on the road about this time tomorrow. We aren't staying at a Disney resort tonight (couldn't add tomorrow onto the reservation - no availability at CSR) so we will be at the HOJO on 192 around the corner from the Wide World of Sports. So we are planning on getting to the expo for the 2PM course talk, pick up our packets and then go to the HOJO to relax and maybe play mini golf right next door. Then early Saturday we will be on our way to CSR and then off to Epcot - plan on seeing Off Kilter for their first show at 2:30PM and then back to the room to relax before the race. Then plan on being heading toward AK around 5 or 5:30PM

Man I can't believe EEC is only 2 days away!!!! I cant believe we signed up for this thing back in Feburary and its finally here!!!!!

I don't know how I am supposed to work today - I just want to go NOW!~

This time tomorrow I should have just squeaked in in time to pick up my packet and should be driving over to AKL!!

But we just found a glitch. I'm going with a company (about 15 people from one dept.) and we just realized that 2 original people can't come and they are trying to replace them. I warned them Disney is not very easy with changing things, so we'll see what happens. Also - even worse for the company - we booked 10 rooms when we weren't sure how many people were coming thinking we had plenty of time to cancel. Now we only need 5 rooms and we're way past the 5 day limit for canceling! I feel bad because I helped them book the rooms (since I don't work and was at home I had more free time) - I hope they don't think it's my fault!!

I just got back to my room at SSR after getting my race stuff. I was able to meet Carol and John (Blizzard and DH). Look forward to seeing everyone at the race tomorrow!!
