Expedition Everest Challenge May 5 @ 9:30 2012

doesn't help with the unib00b situation, but ya know...

:rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:

You feel my pain!! That's the FIRST thing I noticed with my cheapy Hanes bras! I looked down, and the two had merged into one! :scared1:

I went by Target on my way home from school today and tried on a couple of Champion ones. I kinda/sorta liked one, but it still allowed for quite a bit of bounce. But, the girls stayed separated!

I'll be heading out to Dicks either tomorrow or Thursday to see what they might have for me there.

you should have better luck at the sporting goods store over target, at least in the Champion brand...they'll have their regular line available there rather than the C9 that's at Target. Unfortunately, you'll notice a price tag increase as well. :headache: If you happen to settle on a Champion model, check their website...I think right now they are having a $10 off sale on bras, so you may be able to save a little by ordering online.

Now I have a question for the ladies. Rather, ladies with a little extra "baggage" up top ;). I purchased a cheap set of Hanes sports bras from Wal-Mart a couple of weeks ago, and they seemed to be okay but not great. After last night, I think I'm definitely going to need something that can hold the girls down a bit better than what I have now. Any suggestions?
MOVING COMFORT ALL THE WAY!!!!! My brother in law owns a sports clothing store and he LOVES ordering moving comfort in b/c it brings in all the athletes - soccer players, cheerleaders, runners. They all swear by these bras AND they look good too :) i finally got one and love it - it's so hard for me to buy generic store bras b/c of my 32 inch chest size with a D to DD cup but I was able to find that the 34D in the JUNO style was a great fit for me. On their site you can even do measurements and they tell you what size is best for you. My brother in law says the JUNO style is the most popular for really good support and looks good. I ADORE my JUNO!!!!!!!!!!

Good luck with your search. It's DEFINITELY good to have one that fits and holds well.

I also noticed something last night...when I run faster, my ankle hurts less. It didn't actually hurt last night, but it was on its way to hurting. I began turning the pace up on the treadmill, just to see what I could tolerate, and I found that my ankle didn't hurt one bit. I think I also may have had my first "runner's high" when my legs didn't feel as tired after about 40 minutes. Now I just need my lungs to start feeling the same way!!

You know my problem with my hamstring is sort of like that too!! When i walk fast or even do alot of stairs my hamstring bugs me but when I actually RUN -doesn't really bother me at all. Not sure what it is with that??:confused3

Just whining: we were supposed to go out for an early morning run today but my allergies have totally gotten the best of me! I feel like I got hit by a truck!

I'm hoping I feel better soon as my dad and I are already behind schedule!

Don't feel too bad - you'll get back to it. I feel bad b/c I had no allergies to blame my missed run on. LOL

I am trying to do crosstraining 3 days a week. I am still not a runner and really hoping there is no sweeping involved. There wasn't in the Marathon Weekend Family Fiesta 5K - or I was ahead of it if there was.

Did anyone get the email this morning?
It was a little confusing - but it looks like I signed the waiver online. But as for the post race party - I didn't have any extra ticket purchases....I ended up calling - and they said I was ok. Weird.

I didn't get the email :confused3 Seems we all got it the same day last time so that's odd that nobody else has gotten one but oh well. I'll watch for mine this week.

I emailed runDisney yesterday because I was worried that the email didn't get through to me or something after I read that someone had gotten one (I never got any of the emails last year for the Tink half for some reason) and they responded back that the email with waiver link was going out "later this week"...so we should hopefully all have it soon!

How odd that I received it yesterday. The guy at runDisney did say the phones were busy and that one issue was people who had purchased party tickets in addition to running the race....that could have been it - since I am solo.

I am now going to look at those Champion bras....

It sounds crazy, but when I crosstrain, I feel like I do a little better on my runs. I have P90X, and I do the Shoulders and Arms routine, which isn't very strenious or time-consuming, on the days in-between my runs, and I think it helps a tiny bit.

No email for me, either, but I'm sure it'll arive before too long.

I just have to say...it's amazing what a little break and some nice weather can do to a person's run. I slacked a little last week and only ran Monday and Thursday. Then, didn't do anything until yesterday.

The weather was gorgeous out...low 70's, and my teammate and I did a 5K in 42:02, my best time in 2012 so far!:woohoo:

I'm really hoping since the weather has dropped off a bit here in FL that it won't be as hot in Disney as I was afraid it'd be. If we have weather like last year's race, it'll be wonderful!

GREAT!! Good to know :) Thanks for doing that.

Hmmm, that worries me. I signed up as a team and ordered one extra party ticket plus 2 pins and i thought it didn't explain it very well what all i got exactly on my print outs so i guess we'll see what they end up claiming when the email comes.

Great job on the run!!!
I still havn't gotten in my next run :( I really want to get in 3 this week though to make up for only 2 last week so I guess i will be doing a Tues/Thurs/Sat run plan this week. I sure with it would warm up a bit more outside so I could just run out there.

ugh...humidity and warmer temps are definitely setting in. I've tried staying in denial about it, but I guess I can't anymore...it's only going to get worse (sooooo much worse!) from here. I went for a 4 miler yesterday (thinking that if I felt really good, I'd push to 5 since I have a 10k this weekend....oh and I haven't run over 4 miles since the Tink half...whoops. :confused3). Well, 4 was about all I could muster, and I really felt like I was doing good...I felt fast and REALLY felt like I was working hard, but still ended up with just a hair over a 12 min average pace....which is really normally fine for me except that I just FELT like I was working harder and moving faster than that. I have to keep reminding myself that it's the humidity that really takes it out of you, it's going to get worse and my times are going to go up as a result. Eventhough I know that, it's still deflating! This 10k this weekend, I'm afraid, is going to be a disaster! :scared1: Not only is it 2.2 miles further than I've run in a loooong time, it's in an area described to have "rolling hills"...great. It's sponsored by Blue Bell ice cream, and it's all-you-can-eat at the finish....so there's that :woohoo:

Almost forgot to say that I posed a pic on my pre trip report of mine and DD's race day outfits.

Pop on over if you have some time - just go to the last page or you can find a link to it on page one too in the table of contents.

Don't expect anything exciting. DD's is really cute though :)

I wanted to purchase two more after-party tickets but I wasn't sure if I needed to register the attendees by name. I tried emailing active.com but they haven't responded. Does anyone know how separate after-party tickets work? I hope I can still grab a couple!

I ordered one yesterday. I would suppose that the name of the person picking up the tickets be the person who 'registers' via Active.com.

I am so totally bummed. :sad2:

I went to Dick's to try on some sports bras. And boy, did I ever! I tried on Champion, Underarmer, Nike, Adidas, and the popular Moving Comfort. I tried on about 15 of them, but I had absolutely no luck. Some of them did fit (barely), but they felt way too tight when I had them on. And then there was trying to get them off after I had put them on. If they had an illegal camera in that fitting room, I'm sure the video is on You Tube by now.

Picture it: a heavier woman, bent over, trying to pull this thing off of her, somehow thinking it will help to back up or thrash about like a dog trying to get a cone off their neck. Yes, it looked just like that.

I also stopped by Kohl's, just to see what was there. At least the Tek Gear stuff was easier to put on/take off, but it offered no support whatsoever.

I hat buying stuff like this online, because I'm obviously so hard to fit. I don't think I'm morbidly obese or anything. I wear a size 16-18 pants and a 1X up top. I don't understand why I can't find a GOOD sports bra in a store that fits!!

Okay, now that I'm done venting, let's go back and picture me trying to get one of those things off again. :rotfl2:

:lmao: hahahaha, I know exactly what you mean...you practically have to be a contortionist to get most of them on or off...and I always find the easier they are to get on and off, the worse the support is so it's a lose/lose situation. If you should have to resort to trying to find one online, maybe try Zappos? I don't know what kind of a selection they may have in sports bras, but their shipping is AMAZINGLY fast (and I've always been upgraded in the past for free...seriously, I've ordered a pair of shoes before at like 6pm and had them before noon THE NEXT DAY and only paid for "standard" shipping. I'm a VIP with them now and get automatic free next day shipping on anything...I really love them ) and they pay for return shipping as well...so it may make the process a little less painful if you end up having to do some returns.

I purchased a party ticket and put it in the persons name but realize that may have been a mistake as I think I'll have to drag him to pickup to get the ticket despite me paying for it.. Worst case I'll bring a printout of the purchase with my name and CC info also on it..

First of all, congratulations on your great time - you will be ready for that 10 miler in September, I just know it!

Second, your story about trying on bras absolutely cracks me up and, unfortunately, I feel your pain! I do the unib00b thing myself which has been okay since I don't run fast enough for anything to jiggle more than it would when I walk. Sometimes I even wear two and probably look like a linebacker - oh well! Cripey's idea about zappos is a good one. Also, I was looking on amazon and there are some great prices on the more well-known ones. So, if you do manage to find one you like, you could compare pricing online.

Now, I'm off to youtube for those great dressing room videos. ;)

You girlz iz funny!!!!:banana::rotfl2: However, this past weekend, on Easter no less, I was informed by my wife that she HAD to have new running stuff if she was going to do this. Off to the Nike outlet we went. She ended up finding a Nike maximum support running bra. I have no idea if it's worth a darn or not, but she looks good wearing it!

Got three more miles in tonight! I'm getting back into it! Got all the dining reservations made, lodging, airfare etc. So ready!!!! I'm also thinking seriously about signing up for the WDW 2013 Marathon!

:lmao::rotfl2::rotfl: I'm so sorry! But yes, I can picture it - I have a top that has no stretch at all, no zipper, and no buttons. That's exactly how I look trying to take it off! Have you tried Road Runner Sports? They have actual stores in some parts of the country and are online. Return shipping isn't free, which I don't love, but they have a huge assortment of everything online and lots and lots of thorough reviews. Might be worth looking! Also, try a search on runnersworld.com - they test and review lots and lots of gear.

:cool1: I'm planning my first 1/2 for the Princess, so no WDW marathon or half for me, but I'm thinking of doing the 5K that weekend and being there to cheer for the marathoners!
