I was under the impression that Expedia was supposed to compare fares and tell me the lowest fare available. I need a flight to Las Vegas from Houston and they just suggested something $160 more than I had found. Is there a sight that really does compare or must I do this on my own?
Thank you for any help.

I usually use Expedia or Travelocity to get a general idea of fares and then go to the individual airline web sites to see what they have. And since Southwest doesn't show on any of the travel sites you have to check their site to see their fares.

I use Kayak.com to compare airfares from different airlines and online travel sites. It will look at all sites and then list them from the cheapest to the most expensive. I love it!

I agree with www.kayak.com.

It's a travel search engine. You click through to the resulting price you like and purchase directly from the provider. That's how Kayak earns money.

Expedia, Travelocity, etc., are travel agencies. You purchase directly from them, and so you are subject to their rules/fees regarding changes or cancellations, as well as access to your reservation.
