Couldn't believe it so I e-mailed Virgin & they ARE charging £50 for an exit seat out of Gatwick. I expect that pathetic behaviour with charter airlines but not scheduled flights. Bulkhead seats next? Those seats are good but not that good! The area is usually cold, the arms do not raise & the window seat has legroom restricted by the door. Even the charter jumbo that travel city are using has 31" seat pitch compared with Virgins 30". I've sent an e-mail of complaint.

What next?

They will probably start charging for that tiny little cushion and horrible scratchy blanket that they give you for the long haul flights!

Or maybe they can put a lock on the toilet door and you have to put in 20p to enter.

How about adding 50p to your credit card each time a new movie starts on your TV set..........

SSSSHHHHHH........They probably read this:rolleyes:

I think I'll join you in an e-mail of complaint!

DH is 6ft 4ins. When we book in - we are not greedy we just ask for one exit seat for him as it is virtually impossible for him to fold himself into a 'normal seat'.

Is this not penalising those who genuinely have problems with the 'usual' seats?

As there is now a charge, does anyone know if these seats are pre-bookable?
