Does anybody know if the exit row seats on Delta Express have more leg room? I am trying to pick my seats for just my husband and I and have heard Delta express may not have a lot of leg room.
I'm suprised that they will allow you to select these seats in advance. Most carriers block them, and they are assigned at check-in by airline agents.
I might be wrong, but I believe either DOT or FAA require a certain amount of pitch clearance in exit row seating that is wider than the average plane seat pitch.
We flew in the exit row seats on a Delta Express flight earlier this year and loved the extra room! We aren't ones to recline the chairs anyway so that didn't bother us. We had picked the seats off the internet and weren't sure if they would carry over but that's where we were seated at check in. It was by far the most comfortable flight on one of those jets that I have ever taken - in fact we chose them again for our upcoming trip!
Delta does allow booking of exit row seats on their website, you have to answer a few questions first.
If memory serves, the seats do recline, there is more legroom also. I believe it is the row before the exit row that does not recline.
My husband and I sat in the exit row on our return flight from MCO to BOS this past May on Delta Express. The extra leg room was great and our seats did recline. We also have exit row seats booked for our return flight for this Sept trip.
We've been booking exit row seats on Delta Express for several years and love them. I select these seats when I book on line, or have called Delta Express and asked to switched to them. You do have to be physically able to assist in opening the door in case of any emergency and I think kids have to be at least 15. There's a HUGE amount of room between you and the seat ahead. I have to pull the try table towards me to use it! You can't block the exit area at all, so carry-ons have to be small enough to totally fit beneath the seat ahead of you or must be stored overhead.
I tried to get them for Dec. trip but couldn't due to my 5 year old granddaughter who will be going along for the first time. However, the row number is 10 and well worth asking for! I am about 5'8" and am pretty uncomfortable on Delta Express, can't imagine being over 6'.
