Does anyone have any exercise DVDs that you love? I have been doing a zumba DVD since Christmas and while I have lost quite a bit of weight, I don't like doing it. It's not that I'm tired of doing the same thing - I think the bottom line is that I just don't like to exercise. Does anybody have any recommendations for an exercise DVD that you find both fun and effective? And yes, I've heard that the actual classes are much better, but I need something I can do at home due to time constraints.

I love Leslie Sansone's Walk Away The Pounds.

She has lots of them out and over the years I've bought several so I can alternate them and not get tired of them.

I don't "like" to exercise either, I don't think many people do really. But, I know it's good for me and I do feel GREAT when I finish one each day. :)

She is wonderful. I love her DVD's, and actually enjoy doing the workouts.

I like her earlier ones... Her personality is nice and fun and easygoing.
I always put in the 'Walk and Kick'.

I do wish that I could find some new ones...
As her 'WALKING' can get boring and repetitive.

I think Jillian Michaels would give me a heart attack and bodily unjury!
No way, at my age, I could do hers.

With Leslie Sansone, ladies of a certain age can get a really good workout with no-inpact, no body pain, etc.. She is excellent at that.

I noticed the ones advertised on cable TV. There is one geared for women my age that looked interesting. I don't remember the name of it right now...

Has anybody tried that one?

Here is a place you can see video clips of most exercise DVDs
www.collagevideo.com

Right now I'm all about Chalene Extreme from Beachbody. Have been doing it for several months (on and off).

Wow, great link!

I played the clip of Leslie Sansone's new one where she adds some cardio and toning. She is starting to step it up and mix it up a little! I might think about that one.

Thank you all for the suggestions and the link! And MIGrandma, I feel great AFTER exercising as well. It's just those 40 minutes while I'm doing it that are hell, LOL!

I am doing Slim in 6 right now. I wouldn't say it's "fun", but it's a great total body workout. I like that it has a time frame set to it - 3 DVDs, 6 weeks, 2 weeks per DVD. I'm hoping to move on to T25 in a few weeks, but now I want to check out Leslie Sansone and Chalene Extreme!!

I hated to exercise too, but recently made the commitment to myself to get in better shape. I'm not losing the pounds yet, but definitely getting stronger and feeling better. Now I actually look forward to my mid-day gym runs. Just wish I could get better at fitting in the DVDs at home. I really want to do them, but with 3 kids and 2 in sports, finding the time is hard!!

Can anyone recommend a good Zumba DVD?

It took me a while before I started actually losing weight too. I started exercising last summer and while I noticed that my thighs were slimmer after a few months, I wasn't losing any weight, nor did my clothes seem to fit much differently. Then, in the spring, the pounds started melting away and I'm now probably a full size smaller. I guess maybe it just takes a while for your body to respond sometimes? Also, I went for my yearly check-up yesterday and the nurse just called back with my bloodwork. My HDL went up about 20 points to 90-something. So, as much as I hate exercise, I am definitely seeing results and that motivates me to keep it up.

My main issue now is that I have surpassed my weight loss goal by 5 pounds and am now in maintenance mode and while that is a good thing, I think it makes it a little harder to maintain motivation.

Anyway, regarding the zumba question, I use the exhilarate dvd set. It comes with 5 DVDs, but I really only use one of them. I don't seem to get much of a workout from the others.

I also love Jillian Michaels 30 Day Shred. There are 3 different levels and the moves can all be adjusted for people that arent as fit starting out. Its only 20 minutes and really hits all body parts. I think I paid $9 at Walmart.

I did my first mini-triathlon this summer so had been training for months. I wanted a quick workout on a rainy day so threw in Julian's video and did level 3 at the hardest intesity. Even then, I was super sore the next day--the "good workout sore." It really is a great, quick workout for all fitness levels.
