Exercise Committment Challenge - Join Me

Hi there,

Last January there was a few of us from the Monday night WISH chat who started a committment thread and several us started to regularly exercise. I continued this until June of this year. Then I fell off the exercise and good eating wagon. I know that part of the reason I was able to make it to my goal weight in June was the exercise. I also never felt better. Yes at first I was extremely tired and would come home and pass out before 9pm. But after a few weeks I got more energy and felt better than I ever had before. I felt strong and really healthy!

So..........Here we are close to the New Year. I keep thinking, oh I'll start in January. I almost did that with getting back on track with eating and I am glad I didn't wait. No time like the present. Just think if we get started now we can be so much healthier by January and be ahead of the game.

Who want's to join me. I was thinking about waiting until Monday, but maybe I'll even start tonight or tomorrow. The hardest part is getting started, just as it is with getting on track to eating healthier.

If there is an interest, I'll start a weekly thread where you can post the exercise you did or didn't do. We will be here to support and motivate each other. It really helps when you have a place to check in. It sort of makes you want to exercise and after a while you learn to LOVE to exercise.

I'd love to have a place to check in with daily/weekly workout info. I'm in a similar situation as you & had also thought about just waiting until January. But, I decided to jump back into my program & have been doing pretty well over the last 2 weeks. It has been hard to fit in time for exercise lately (especially with all of the holiday festivities and holiday shopping.) I think my program would go so much better if I can just make the time to exercise! :rolleyes:

I'm very excited that I'm going to be getting a new elliptical machine this month, so I'm hoping that it will really help jumpstart my workouts. I also have a trip to WDW coming up the last week of January that I want to prepare for.

So, count me in! Just let me know where to go! Thanks for getting this started! :D

You know I'll follow you anywhere!!!! I'm in. I know I'm already committed to the Firm exercise thread and the 1000 minutes of exercise per month thread but you know how I feel about potentially backsliding so I'll take all the support I can get. Especially since my weight loss has slowed the closer I get to goal, I probably need to step it up a bit. So I'll be looking for the weekly thread!
 
You can count me in, after I am cleared by my MD tomorrow. I need to get back at it after dome health issues the last couple of weeks.
 

You can always jump in & join the Dec exercise challenge! Just go to the thread & post your goal, then update us on your progress there. If you think 1000 min is too much with the late start, then figure out what works for you & set your goal that way. We've also had people set other types of goals other than minutes of exercise, like # miles walked or run, but minutes exercised seems to translate best to all types of exercise. We'd love to have you join us!

What a wonderful idea. I have been working out nearly every day for the last few months and know that it is the reason why I am dropping so much weight. I am really starting to enjoy it and miss it when I can't make it to the gym. I am so pleased about the positive effects that it is having on my body.

I want to enjoy the holidays and intend to work out as much as I can. I am also realistic and know that because of the exercise I probably won't put any weight on but I certainly won't lose any either.

Count me in for January ~ I want to start the New Year with a bang and a smaller bod!!!!
 
Melanie - Exercise has slipped lately for me too. I don't know how I'm going to fit in Christmas shopping and keep in excerise too. Just when I thinking my schedule's going to let up, I end up having to work some horribly late days and I can't ge myself to Curves. I am adding more ab work to my workouts. That's stuff I do at home, instead of at Curves. So, hopefully, that will give me a jump start.

I am realizing that I need all of the help I can get to get through the holidays, though. So, I'm jumping in here too. Thanks for starting this!
 
FYI- I'll be starting this on Monday.
