Excuse me, you'll need to see security. What has Mickeystoontown done? Update 3/25x2

Such a gorgeous resort! Thanks for posting those pretty pictures!

Your view was gorgeous! My daughter wants to stay at CBR next year and I would love to as well but the week we go the cheerleaders are usually there for two days. I know that they usually stay at the All Stars and CBR. Last year I stayed at ASSp and they were so loud they had me up until 2am! I wonder if if I requested a quiet location if they would put me far far away from them?

Looks like your room had a very nice view. Love the bunny. Those bananas look nice. Wonder if it was a dwarf banana tree? That's what we have and that's about all the bigger the bananas get.

Oh oh oh thar reminds me ........ 9pops in Cd of Brian wilson -In The Key Of Disney) love that album if you don't have it yet you should get it :cloud9:

Love some Brian Wilson!

I love the pictures of the resort. :goodvibes: Steve better say yes to a trip next month so I can stay there!

And I love the bunny too!

I sure hope that Steve says yes so that you can stay at the CBR. You know that we love it!

The bunnies are everywhere!

Beautiful pictures! It looks like my niece and nephew may be staying there in April! :thumbsup2

I hope that they love it as much as we do. :thumbsup2

Yay! An update! You may have convinced me to try Caribbean Beach. I never wanted to because it is so spread out, but it looks absolutely beautiful.

It is spread out but it's not so big that you can't walk anywhere on the resort grounds. If my 78 year old mother can do it, you can too.

I'm not sure if they put the cheerleaders in a certain village in the resort or scatter them around. I bet that you could put in a request to be away from them and they'd try their best to accommodate you.

I think that they were the dwarf bananas because we saw another tree and some of the bananas looked like they were starting to ripen and they were still small.

Aruba is so pretty! I think I love the pink/purple color scheme the best out of all the villages.

Oh my beloved pretty pink Aruba 51. I loved that resort so much. Thanks for the lovely pictures-they're bringing back good memories. :goodvibes

Love your beautiful pictures of the resort! Disney really did nail the theming there. The building and grounds totally look like a Caribbean getaway.

Hope you have a fantastic final day at the World. If I know your family, I'm sure there will be a memorable moment or two.

Pretty pictures from your resort! :)

Every time I look at the pictures of CBR, I think "why are you even thinking about staying somewhere else?". It's just so pretty!

While it stinks that the last day of your trip had arrived...at least it had some nice weather along with it!

Insert dun dun dun music here!:rolleyes1

When we were in Nassau and saw the pretty buildings along the shore, we all said that it looked like Caribbean Beach but on a grander scale.

One day I'm going to stay there. :)

Where will you be staying next trip?

Jesse and Hunter share a Titanic moment! I’m Flying Hunter!

The bus ride to the Magic Kingdom didn’t take long at all but that was not our destination. We had a breakfast ADR at The Whispering Canyon at the Wilderness Lodge. So, once we got off the bus we made the walk over to the boat launch for the Wilderness Lodge. Look! Here comes the ferry boat.

I’ve said to before and I’ll say it again and again. I am SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO happy that we don’t have to take the ferry over to the Magic Kingdom any more. Back in the day when we stayed offsite and didn’t know any better, we, along with hundreds of other folks, shuffled onto the ferry and tried to keep together. I never did like riding it and I certainly do not miss it.

I can’t remember how long we waited on the Wilderness Lodge boat to come along but I do remember thinking that it took a little while. By the time it arrived, there were several other people waiting with us. We boarded the boat and made the scenic ride over to the Wilderness Lodge. Jesse asked one of the crewmembers if he and Hunter could go to the front of the boat and they said that they could. A blurry pic:

Next thing we knew, Jesse had gone to the very front of the boat and was standing with his arms outstretched like Rose on the Titanic. He looked at Hunter and said “Hunter, I’m flying!” Ahhh brotherly moments.

I attempted to take pictures:

They stayed outside and talked with the castmember while the rest of us sat and chatted about what we wanted to do on our last day in the Magic Kingdom. Oh and I took one more picture just because I thought that it was cute the way the other castmembers had their legs dangling down:

As we got to the dock at the Lodge, it started sprinkling rain so we stepped up the pace. Where had those clouds come from? They weren’t there earlier. We entered the Lodge and, just like every other time we’ve visited, we were struck by how pretty the Lodge is. But, we had no time to dilly-dally. We had a breakfast ADR to get to.

We were seated immediately and our server came right after we sat down. She was funny! The servers there are a hoot and often make jokes or grumble about their job, etc. She mumbled something about hating “this stupid job but I need the money so what can I say?”. She looked at us up and down and sized us up. She declared John to be “Pops” or “Grandpa”, he could decide. Jesse to be “Sonny”. Me to be the “Queen Bee”. Lacey to be the “Princess” and Hunter to be “Hollister ‘cause that’s what your shirt says”. She took our drink order and said that she’d come back later when “ya’ll stop all the fidgeting and figure out what you want to eat”.

When she brought our drinks, Lacey asked for a straw and she grabbed a handful from her apron and threw them on the table. “I bet you always get what you want don’t ya Princess?” John started laughing and she told him that he was going to be “trouble”. She took our orders and stomped off. We were seated right beside the window and we could see that it had started to rain even harder. Not thunderstorm hard but it was a pretty hard shower.

The waitress brought out our food and made a few more jokes. As she was standing there she said “Here comes my boss. Lie and tell him how good I am.” A gentleman came along and asked how we were and if everything was as we ordered it. We told him yes and that our waitress was the best waitress that we had ever had. Our waitress broke character and we chatted a little with her and the supervisor. They asked about our vacation and we told them that it was our last day. The supervisor moved on but the waitress stayed. We asked her if anybody had ever gotten mad at her when she was in character and she said that they had. One man had gotten very upset when she called him “Gramps” and asked to see her supervisor. She said that she had gotten pretty good at reading people and could tell how far she could go with her character. She told us to let her know if we needed anything and went to wait on a table of patrons who had just arrived.

Jesse ordered the Slow-smoked Barbeque Pulled Pork and Over Easy Egg Sandwich - on Brioche roll topped with pepper jam, served with breakfast potatoes:

Lacey ordered Chocolate Chip Buttermilk Pancakes - with bacon:

Apparently, I forgot to take a picture of Hunter’s french toast. John and I ordered the All-You-Care-To-Enjoy Breakfast Platter - Scrambled Eggs, Western Home Fries, Bacon, Sausage, Waffles, Buttermilk Biscuits, and Sausage Gravy

Our waitress, in character, came around often to check on us and see if we needed anything. She was very attentive and we tipped her well before we left.

Before leaving the resort, we wanted to go to the store and buy John a t-shirt. He has two Wilderness Lodge shirts that he wears to work all of the time and they were beginning to get rips and stains in them. Wouldn’t you know it, he didn’t buy a single thing there. I don’t know why but he didn’t.

I would love to have this in my house. It’d go very well with my decor.

They had towels out for the guests who were coming in from the rain. Guess that’s a perk of staying in a deluxe resort.

Once we were done looking around, we made our way back to the boat launch and walked by the resort pool:

The geyser was erupting as we walked by:

We waited in the sprinkling rain wondering whether or not we should break out the ponchos. Usually, the second we get them put on and buttoned up, it stops raining. Kinda like when you wash your car. Wash the car...instant rain! Put on poncho...instant rain!

**Up next: Dude! Seriously? Who has that kind of money?

Wilderness Lodge is such a gorgeous resort! I really enjoyed it when I stopped there to look at the Christmas decorations. I'd love to stay there one day.

Your waitress sounds like a hoot! And your food all looks so yummy, it's making me hungry!

Whispering Canyon was one of the places I suggested for this trip...sadly it just didn't fit into our schedule. Maybe another time..it sounds like fun!:goodvibes

Cute Titanic moment! That was the question my boys most wanted answered when Jeff and I got back from our cruise in 2010....did you do the Titanic thing? Well, no, because on a cruise ship you can't get to the Titanic spot! :confused3

That bear hat/coat rack would look great in your house! Merry Christmas to Lisa.....John are you listening?? ;)

Awww...it's the morning that I saw y'all, but didn't say anything because you looked like you were in a hurry. I think I would have been in a rush, too, if that breakfast was waiting for me!

We've never visited Wilderness Lodge. One day, maybe.

I am sooo glad we got to stay at WL a couple years ago:cloud9:. We were booked at CBR, due almost completely to reading your trip reports and how much you love it:thumbsup2, but then, I got the coveted 40% pin code:cheer2:. I switched so fast to WL I think I made my DH's head spin:rotfl2:

When we finally get back to WDW, I really want to stay at CBR, it always looks so beautiful in your pictures. Sadly, we only go every 2 or 3 years and we just went to DL in October.:sad2:
