Excuse me, you'll need to see security. What has Mickeystoontown done? Update 3/25x2

Living with the Land is one of my favorite attractions. Maybe because I am the WORST gardener on the planet and it's nice to see LIVING plants once in a while! :lmao:

Yep...right there with you and Captain Kangaroo. We are old!

That's hilarious! :rotfl: I'm pretty lucky when it comes to growing things.

You remember Captain Kangaroo! :hyper: Do you also remember Mr. Greenjeans, Mr. Moose and Rabbit? :hyper: What about the ping pong balls? :hyper:

I was laughing so hard at the fact that you named that plants that had the name in the picture. At first I thought you knew a lot about plants...

I was also looking for a salt shaker until I realized it was a joke :)

Oh I could have totally identified those plants even if the signs weren't there. NOT! Well, I did know what some of them were.

I could have sat under that tomato tree with a salt shaker and had a grand ol' time. Or over by the 9 pound lemon tree which I guess I missed this time.

I know who Captain Kangaroo is!!! I know I know!!:lmao: I loved that show.

You go look him up on Youtube. He had great hair!:happytv:

I have Living with the Land to thank for educating me about pineapples. I never knew they grew low on the ground like that. Our first trip on 2009 was when I learned that. I always thought they came off trees!:rotfl:

I hope you guys do that one night at POR. I'm so excited for you!

Your photos of the unidentified plants remind me of the bit on the Jungle Cruise: "And now I will take a moment to point out my favorite plants...this one...and that one over there...and that green one there." :rotfl:

You just made me realize that I forgot to take a picture of the 9 pound lemons. Maybe that's where my salt shaker is!

I believe the lost shaker of salt is with the 9 pound lime!

You remember Captain Kangaroo! :hyper: Do you also remember Mr. Greenjeans, Mr. Moose and Rabbit? :hyper: What about the ping pong balls? :hyper:

I remember Captain Kangaroo and Mr. Greenjeans and after you mention it the ping pong balls ring a bell, but I'm blanking on Mr. Moose and Rabbit.

But I have total recall of Mr. Rodgers and all of his friends from the Land of Make Believe!

Fantastic update from Living with the Land. I  that attraction. So many photo ops!

I've got to say, I really miss having a real person narrating on Living with the Land. It was nice to be able to ask questions. Once time we were riding it with our Hidden Mickey book out looking for as many as we can find and the captain kept helping us- Even pointing out a few he didn't think were in the book! It was great!

this is OT but Captain Kangaroo went to Dartmouth College. I used to work as a buyer in the Dartmouth store and he came in and he was one nasty SOB!:confused3

We got snow on Christmas! I think they said it was the first time in something like 80 years that we had actually gotten the snow on Christmas day. We got quite a bit - 8-9 inches at our house, and more in other places. We were without power for about 18 hours that night until sometime Wednesday evening, but we have a fireplace and plenty of wood so we were good! There were many in the area that went days without power. But the snow was so pretty! Luckily, I had taken off work the rest of the week already and didn't have to worry about going anywhere!

Our dates are May 26-June 2 right now. Hopefully, we can keep those. It's a bit later than usual, but I was worried we might use up more snow days, plus Allison may be bringing a friend along and I didn't want to ask her parents to take her out of school early, even though I'm sure they would. Also, I'm trying to get into the Non-Traditional Teacher Licensing program (change of profession -- woo hoo!) and they may have Orientation right smack in the middle of our vacation; I am waiting to hear back. If so, we'll have to change our dates.

Anywhoo--great Epcot updates! The only park we've ever made Rope Drop was Magic Kingdom, once, when we stayed at Bay Lake Tower! We're lucky if we're just getting out the door at park opening time, but love those Evening Extra Magic Hours!

and everybody all together now.....just make believe you're a tiny little seed ,a tiny little seed that's reaching up to meet your need.with the right amount of feed and the right amount of Earth, you'll grow to see the sunshine on your day of birth.Let's listen to the land we all love ,natures plan will shine above...........:cool1:

I was so far behind...New Year's, birthday, The "Tower of Terror" resort conundrum and several postings on your trip.....but I am all caught up now!! :cool1:

Keith is so like John!! He says "whatever" too when I ask him about trips! If we do not stay deluxe via point rentals on our next trip we will be at CBR. I am helping my aunt plan a trip right now and that is the direction I pointed her with PO being 2nd choice. Just knowing her children and their wives I think it is the best fit. My cousins stay in New Orleans so much and one of them's wife grew up there, so I felt PO would not be much of a "vacation" from the normal.

Loved Living with the Land pictures! I adore that ride! And the teal shorts!! :lmao: And the jazz hands heading into Soarin'! :thumbsup2 Next!!

Yeah for adding an extra day to your summer vacation. That's always fun! :cool1:

Can you believe its almost only 4 months away?

I love LWTL and your pictures turned out great. I felt like I was right there in the ride.

I used to love Captain Kangaroo.

Wonderful pictures of The Land attraction. I miss the skipper too. And I wouldn't know what 99% of those things are if I didn't have a sign.

And, as for Captain Kangaroo....oh yes, I am old enough to remember him. :faint:

I haven't been on the land for awhile. I did ask Claire this past trip and she said no.

Hey Lisa :wave2:

The holidays came and somehow I got out of the loop with your trip report :(
No worries though I just got caught up...yay!
I think the night you guys had the dinner at the House of Blues was when we saw you guys on the bus on the way to DDIsney and I got really excited but was too shy to say hello. Anyways love the stories and so glad to be back in the loop lol :)
Happy New Year!
-Jenn :)

phew! glad I'm not the only one still working on last years trip report. LOL. That was a very educational gardening post :cutie:

I can't wait to see what your evil devious plan to trick unsuspecting victims was :) :)

Coming back with replies later, I promise. I wrote up an installment at lunch and just now have the time to post it. I wanted to get it posted before I get swamped again. The boss just called. He's got the flu and the doctor just told him not to be around anyone for a couple of days. Yeah, that's not good since we have court three out of five days this week and appointments on the other two days. Gotta get busy shifting appointments around.

Our evil devious plan to trick unsuspecting victims!

After our lessons in agriculture and aqua-culture, we were left to decide where to head next. Let’s head outside and start walking and then decide. Can you believe that nobody, except for me, wanted to go inside the Imagination Pavilion? What the hay? Who wouldn’t want to see a cute little cuddly wuddly purple animal named Figment? :confused3 Must be the heat that caused them to have such a lapse in judgment.

We started making out way towards the rose garden path and passed by the upside down, or is it backwards, fountain:

We meandered along the pathway until we came to Canada. Every time we go to Epcot, we say that we are going to see the movie and we don’t. Would we see it this time because we had a newbie with us? I wish that I could say that we did but we didn’t. We popped into the shops instead.

Looking for a unique gift for that special someone on your shopping list? How ‘bout this one of a kind soap?

DSCF3704.jpg

Yep, you read that right....Beaver Butt, Moose Spit and Bear Breath! Just what I always wanted. (Can you regift something like this?)

One of the pretty totem poles outside the store:

Some of us needed a potty break while others wanted something to drink. The closest bathrooms were in the United Kingdom so that’s where we went. And, along the way, I concocted a evil devious plan to trick unsuspecting victims! Let’s call the red telephone booths! :hyper:

Jesse, Lacey & Hunter calling:

The unsuspecting victims in and around the phone booths:

We called each of the phone booths several times and, finally, a boy answered the phone and, as soon as Jesse said “How are you enjoying your day at Epcot?” he immediately hung up and came out of the phone booth. Being the over achievers that we are, we tried for ten more minutes but nobody would answer. We did see several people look this way and that way and wonder if they should pick up the phone but they never would. I felt like the mother on Home Alone where she was saying “Pick up the phone! Pick up!”

Our plan foiled, we left the United Kingdom and continued our walk around World Showcase. There was a Photopass photographer on the bridge so we stopped and waited our turn. The photographer was funny and told us to look lovingly into each other’s eyes.

And then kiss....but no tongue...wait a minute, did this guy see John lick my face in Hollywood Studios or was he just kidding with us?

He had Lacey and Jesse do the same thing:

He took a couple more pictures of John and I and, then, Jesse and Lacey. Since I have Bell’s Palsy my eyes are very sensitive to light so I was squinting in the picture:

Enough of this lovely dovey smoochy woochy pictures, we want a family picture!

The Photopass photographer gave me our card back and we continued our journey:

It was getting pretty hot out so we popped in to see the movie in France and, as always, John took his 17 ½ minute long nap in the air conditioned theater. I do not know how he does it, but he falls asleep in about 15 seconds and I wake him up about 15 seconds before it’s over. Thus, the 17 ½ minute nap.

Naptime over with, we made our way to Morocco where Hunter tried on a Fez:

DSCF3713.jpg

I’m going to date myself again...anyone remember the father on Happy Days wearing a hat similar to the one Hunter is styling?

The theming is so well done in the Morocco pavilion:

DSCF3714.jpg

We walked around the pavilion to see if Aladdin, Jasmine or the Genie were there and they weren’t but I was able to take pictures of the hidden Mickeys in the mural:

Jesse and Lacey found a small lamp shady something or other in the gift shop and were trying to decide on what color they liked the best. John, Hunter and I went outside to sit down and I occupied my time by taking pictures:

**Continued in next post

We were sitting on a tiled ledge underneath a tree when I noticed that these trees were growing some sort of fruit. I think that they were limes trees:

DSCF3721.jpg

DSCF3722.jpg

They had the trees trimmed just high enough that the average person couldn’t reach the lowest branches and pluck one of the limes off. I would have loved to have one though as lemons and limes are my favorites!

John and Hunter took time out to do a little calling and texting:

And I took a couple more pictures:

**Up next: Oooh baby, look at that big fat hairy guy right there! I soooo want him!

Love all the great PP pics on the bridge!

I wanted to try the phone booth trick during my trip, but no one was ever near the booths. Too bad it didn't work out well for you.
