First off, hat's off to you for all the work you do on your house. We have A shelf to install and it's stressing me out.

Second, that intruder story has me . Last night I had my own little spooky incident. Ron was asleep and I was washing the baby bottles. Suddenly I hear a man's voice behind me. I get startled, because "I didn't hear Ron get up" I think, only to turn around and there is no one. The tv was off, and I seriously doubt Peanut could make that kind of noise. I seriously have no clue what I heard, but it spooked me out!

Wow, what a weekend...that would have scared the pants right off me.

I am loving your update. John reminds me of a certain someone I know who is as slow as molasses in getting anywhere and SHE has been told that we are leaving without her on the December trip if she's NOT ready when we are leaving. I'm talking about Des...Andy's girlfriend. Drives me totally insane.

Jesse and Lacey look like they are ready to go to war on the game, and Hunter is already practicing pulling that string.

What is it with parents not taking responsiblity and dealing with a child like that? I guarantee you if some other child was doing that and bumped them or their kid they'd be having a moo moo cow!

Wow that is insane about the crazy robber on the loose...glad that you guys were okay and had no run-ins with this person . Also I like getting new stuff done to the house so I am super jealous of you guys! Everytime we have any extra funds we just end up going back to Disney so getting to do both would be . Thanks for the update too!! Love TSM....someday I will do stand by instead of fastpass so I can see all the cool stuff in the que!

Long time lurker here but I just have to comment on the boy not waiting patiently in line and the parents not doing anything about it. That's one of my pet peeves! I dated a guy that had 2 little girls who were 4 & 2. We went to see Santa and they tore apart the display. They were throwing the fake snow every where, bumping into people, etc. I asked the guy I was dating if he was going to put a stop to their shenanigans and he said "no, they are just kids. They don't know how to stand in line." um, isn't that your job as the parent to teach them to be patient and stand in line nicely?! I broke up with him that afternoon!

What a weekend! I would have been freaked out!

So sorry that you got stuck in a long line with an active kid and his questionable parents! That kind of thing drives me crazy. Nothing like parents teaching children that rules don't apply to them.

But, yea for a ride on TSMM!! Did Jesse love it?

Ok, really really dumb question here. How do you get a cab? Do you ask at the front desk for them to call one up for you? Or do you stand there and wave your hand? Or do you walk up to one?

oUTSIDE at each resort at Bell Services there are cabs or they call one for you. We usually get a van as there are 7 of us...costs about $10-12 to go between resorts but worth it when you are tired

My girls and I made it through Sandy without missing a day of power. THANK GOD!!! The part of Maryland we are in didn't get it to bad which I am so thankful. My thoughts and prayers go out to all who are still cleaning up and still without power.

With that said, glad you all are safe with the interruptions from your floor date. Sounds like man's best friend scared your intruder away. Your house must look so good with all the updates.

We haven't had the chance to ride Toy Story. It's been a long time since we have returned to the world but with fingers crossed we will make it there next year. Hunter, Jesse and Lacey look ready to go. Luv the pics!

So glad that noone was harmed during the "robber gone wild" in your neighborhood. And those police were really lucky John wasn't a gun wielding crazed lunatic who came out shooting!
Great update once again! That TSM Dash can get dangerous.I remember one year being run off the street into a garbage can by a mad scooter on the way to the ride. All I kept thinking was Geesh, you can't even go the same way once you get there since you WON'T be doing the stairs!
This last visit, they didn't corral the crowd at the end of the street once you'd entered after the turnstiles, so the dash was only half as crazy. Much better way to let you enter the park IMHO.

I had an installment almost completed yesterday when a client came by at 4:45 p.m. and stayed until 5:25 p.m. Then, she called at 8:30 this morning and I didn't get off the phone with her until 9:19 a.m. Geesh!

I'm going to tidy up the draft and post it before the boss graces the office with his presence. I'll come back with replies as soon as I can.

Raindrops, props and catastrophes!

When we stepped out of Toy Story Mania, we could see that it had started to rain so we decided to duck into the closest attraction which happened to be The Backlot Tour.

We’ve done the Backlot Tour every time we’ve been to Hollywood Studios (with the exception of the time it was being refurbed) but it was a first for Jesse. Because it was raining, they weren’t doing the portion of the tour where they cast audience members as actors and have them act out scenes in a movie. In 2010, Hunter was chosen to participate. There were a couple of castmembers telling us to continue on and motioning us toward the props section of the tour:

I wish we had of had more time to look at the props more closely but the people in front of us were moving at a pretty fast pace as were those behind us so we were only able to catch glimpses of the various props. I’d love to really have the chance to look into the storage areas and see everything that’s stored there. As the left the building, our chariot was waiting for us and we immediately loaded the tram. Hunter was in charge of the camera.

Finally, we made it to the canyon and, next thing we knew, there was an explosion, fire and water! Jesse was taking it all in and thought that it was neat. (You’ll notice wheels in almost every picture. The people in front of us had their stroller laying on the front portion of our tram.)

I haven't been on that for several years and the last time I was, it was broken. It's now closed and rumor is it won't be back, so good thing you got a last ride on it.

Great update, Lisa. We've not done the Backlot Tour for a number of years (probably since 2008) because we just felt since they removed parts of it and haven't updated it, that it just didn't hold as much appeal. But I want to be sure to see it in August next year if it's still there since rumor has it that it will be going "bye-bye" for the new Cars area.

Glad Jesse enjoyed it.

And since when do we park strollers there????? That so easily could have slipped and landed on your lap.

What a scary thing to happen at night! We had a peeping Tom when I was 15, my parents weren't home (at work) and we had the sheriff's department at the house looking at foot prints, my Dad came home freaking cuz her didn't know what was going on.
Needless to say, hearing your story gives my the willies!
