Excuse Me, Does this Milk Come with Refills? A Review w/pics! Updated 1900 PF 12/27

Thanks for the reviews and pics! I'm staying at the Poly this spring, so the Capt Cooks pics were especially great so I can decide whether to eat there or not.

You're welcome. Before we went we noticed we couldn't find too many Captain Cook's review or pics. So, I'm glad to help.

Sorry it's been awhile. Christmas had me side tracked. On with my last restaurant review & pics.

1900 Park fare was our last meal at Disney. While the food was delicious, the waitress could have been more friendly. She was also trying to push us out the door. We had just ate 1 plate of food and were watching the characters and she promptly delivered our bills. I went back up for 2nds and some ice cream.

She was probably the pushiest of all the waiter/waitresses we had.

On to the pictures:

Food was pretty good. Wish we didn't feel rushed. Atmosphere was good. Characters were good. Tigger especially.

We had a ton of snack credits left over the day before we left.

Here's how we used a few of them.

Strawberry Cheesecake:

Chocolate Bundt cake:

Sugar cookie, sorry I was alittle late trying to take a picture here:

Here's some of the snacks we took home. We had a total of 56 snack credits.

That concludes my dining review. I hope you enjoyed the pictures. We enjoyed eating the food, that's for sure.

We are planning a trip back in Feb. Not with the dining plan, but paying out of pocket for everything. I will see how exciting it will be to post a review.

Thanks for reading my review everyone! :goodvibes

Thanks for the great review and pictures. I can't wait for your report in February.

Great reviews, thanks for sharing! Do you feel like it was worth the cost for the DxDP with the combo of CS and TS you combined?
Thanks again.

SunnieRN -

That's a hard question to answer.

First, it was alot of food. Some times we were not very hungry by the time we got to dinner.

Secondly, it's pretty expensive. But if you're set on eating 3 square meals a day when your there, then by all means get the deluxe.

I enjoyed & looked forward to eating at all the places we did. I believe, for us, it was part of the atmosphere of being at WDW.

Do I think it was worth it? Hmmmm, probably not. I mean, you're not going to wither away by eating counter service all the time. But if your vacation is one of leisure and no one cares about a schedule the deluxe is a nice addition.

We're doing out of pocket in Feb. Alittle nervous about that. But after being at the Poly in Nov, we need to budget now. We really didn't expect to be going back so soon. But the husband suggested, I must follow...:rotfl:

Sunniern - I assume you're a nurse? I go for my NCLEX Jan. 9th. :scared1: Wish me luck.

Yes, I am a nurse and I will keep my fingers crossed for you, I think the hardest part about nclex/boards etc are the nerves beforehand. You will do super!
Thank you for your well thought out answer about DxDP. I go back and forth because my grandson has food allergies (he can not have any fruit or high fructose corn syrup) and that is most of the kids meals. (He is 3).
So we are trying to decide whether to go with DxDP and do all sit down meals, or basic and bring things to supplement his kids meals
He also needs to eat small meals three or four times a day.
I wiah they had a 4th option. Two CS, 2 snacks and 1 TS plan! So I think we may be better off basic with extra purchases.
Again good luck and thanks!

Lunch this day was at the Sci Fi.

Shrimp pasta

Who had this dish and did they enjoy it? We went last June an I ordered it... and hated it :( It was overpowered by the calamata olives. I'm hoping they changed it.

I LOVE food porn!

This was the Step Dad's plate at the Sci Fi. To be quite honest, he was sitting behind me in the car and he was very deeply engrossed in his chocolate milk shake and the old movie clips. I'm assuming he enjoyed it, I didn't hear a peep out of him. Sorry I can't give you a definite answer.

I was also engrossed in my onion rings, chicken and that awesome chocolate cake. :)

Another nurse here who loves Disney Dining Reviews!!! Best of luck on your boards, and by all means, you deserve another Disney vacation after finishing nursing school and that test!!!! You'll do great!

Thanks for the well wishes regarding my test. I'm just nervous. I've been in LPN school (1 yr), in community college (getting my pre req's ) for 1 1/2yr, tipped over my snowmobile and gave myself a blown out knee (tore my MCL & maybe my ACL, no surgery done (can't), and went to RN school for 1 1/2 years. I'm all schooled out,but maybe someday I'll get my BS degree. But right now I'm enjoying being with my family. The Disney trips make it very special time with them.

On the subject of Boatwrights, we had breakfast there while my son did the Pirate Adventure. My husband had the french toast which he said was fabulous. It is deep fried and rolled in cinnamon and sugar. We had no trouble getting a table in June without a reservation.

On the topic of the milk, we both ordered OJ, and refills were not free. We paid $10 for 2 fairly small glasses (2 for each of us.) WOW!

Boatwright's had pretty good food. But sure are skimpy on the drinks. Now we know that soda, ice tea & lemonade are free refills. I gave up soda last year, so I'm stuck with ice tea and lemonade.

I just made ADR's for our Feb. trip. Here are some of the places we are going to visit:

1900 park Fare (dinner this time)
Olivia's (dinner)
Maya Grill (dinner)
Whispering Canyon Cafe (dinner)
'Ohana (dinner)
50's prime time cafe (lunch)
Tony's Town Square (lunch)
Plus counter services

I am not quite sure about Olivias. It might be a waste of a dining credit. Any opinions?

Thanks so much for your review! I found it very helpful. I have two open days where we are going to 'wing' it also so I'm glad to know there are occassions where you can walk up and get something or call the day of and find something. We are staying at the GF so I may do the cafe...your choices looked yummy!

Good luck on your test. My sister passed hers earlier this year and was a basket case. I am starting school again after several years of being out. I have an accounting degree but after having children have a desire to be a pediatric nurse. I'm taking A&P 101. I only need the two anatomy classes and then I can apply to the nursing program...here's hoping its not a long wait!

Mom2princessj - your welcome. While we enjoyed the Grand Floridian cafe, we want to try new places this Feb. A nice boat ride from the Poly, a nice dinner, a nice boat ride back to Rapa Nui, ah yes. That's the life!

But the husband loved 'Ohana's enough to go back again. He loved all the meat!

Ah, yes. A & P. Those were the days. Memorizing each bone, muscle, getting my own cat...wait, never mind. Too graphic for this forum. :goodvibes Good luck. It's tough going back to school. I had to take every Pre Req: algebra, nutrition, chemistry, A & P I & II, English, Psychology, Antropology and biology.

I should be a doctor by now. I'm leaning toward being a mental health nurse. Don't ask me why, I just found it interesting. Good luck to you with A & P.

Sunniern - I assume you're a nurse? I go for my NCLEX Jan. 9th. :scared1: Wish me luck.

Good luck on your NCLEX! I am a dialysis nurse recruiter (I know, most nurses hate me), and I also live in Upstate NY - if you're ever looking for work, let me know!

BTW, I am LOVING your reviews - the breakfast at 1900 PF looked delicious!!! I might add that into my vacation next year! :goodvibes

Just acouple of things:

If you want to sit beside the tank, be prepared to be mobbed by children and parents alike. While we didn't sit next to the tank, we still had a great view of the fish.

Also, we watched a Father take pictures of his kids at an empty table in front of the tank. He made the kids actually sit ON the table, with their feet in the empty chairs.

The kids had their little hands all over the clean plates. I'm a nurse and all I could think of were the germs that got left on the poor, unsuspecting peoples table. Oh well! Some people have little or no respect. Just my opinion.

We had the EXACT SAME ISSUE with Coral Reef and the kids! I felt like a prude, but I kept wanting to scream to the parents "BE RESPONSIBLE FOR YOUR CHILDREN!!!" My goodness! Having a child bounce behind DH's chair for the entirety of our trip, not to mention his little sister screaming behind him because he wouldn't move out of the way (which made for a delightful "pushing" fight that the parents didn't even seem to notice... if there even WERE parents there), this just ruined Coral Reef for us!! I doubt we'll return, especially with skimpy, lobsterless portions of bisque!! :sad2:

I'm glad someone else saw and thought the same thing. I just gringed when I saw the kids sitting on the table.

The food was good, just not good enough for us to make a second trip there. Maybe in a couple of years.

Actually, I will be; after my Feb. vacation. I thought about dialysis.

1900 Park Fare had good food. I see you will be on the Deluxe Plan, as we were. You will get spoiled. It was like an adventure. What will the food look like?, will I like any of the appetizers?, OMG I get dessert too? LOL.
