excursions on 7 night Eastern

going on the Eastern on the 7th too, but leaving our 6 children home, this is a Mom & Dad only trip. We are boring, non-partying people, who just love to have good clean fun. Can't wait to come, but are looking for good shopping, a little beach time to just sit and read if there is shade, and maybe an overall tour of the island. Any suggestions?

How lucky for you and it appears that you are going to save a bundle by leaving all of the kids at home. No wonder you are looking for some shopping. I am afraid that I am not familiar with St. Maarten at all. That is why we have decided on the full day charter. However, St. Thomas is another story. We have friends who are in the Coast Guard and they lived on St. Thomas for four years. We did visit them once but it was several years ago. They suggested going over to Coral World and Coki Beach. There is excellent shopping in town and also the tram to the top of mountain. That should fill up a day pretty easily. For something a little less traveled, you might consider Meagan's Bay. That beach is consistently listed among the top 10 in the world. We did go there and it was very beautiful and calm if I remember. There are not a lot of amenities there. Whatever you choose, it should be great. Have Fun!

We were at Megans Bay once. It is a "must do". Go early and you'll have the place to yourself. It gets crowded in the afternoon. We went to Saphirre beach this summer and didn't enjoy it nearly as much as Megan's Bay.
