Excursion photos

Are cameras and phones allowed on excursions? I'm doing the dolphin swim in Cozumel and the stingray excursion in Castaway Cay. Will I be able to take my own photos? If not is there somewhere to leave my valuables?

The instructions/info for the excursion will indicate whether you can utilize your own camera on these excursions.

I believe for the dolphin swim the answer is no. At CC, you may bring your own.

Pretty much all the dolphin swim places won't let you take your own pics while doing the swim. They will take pics and will try to get you to buy them. They are expensive. If you have someone who is going with you and just watching, then they can take pics(they won't be close to you, they make them stay in an area further away). We did the dolphin swim at Dolphin Discovery at Chanaakab Nat. Park in Cozumel. They had lockers to keep things in. You can take a camera in the water at CC when you do the stingrays(we did in 2017)

When we did the dolphin swim in Grand Cayman, we could bring our phones/cameras, but were required to put them in a locker before the swim began. Observation guests (it was an option on this particular excursion) were allowed to use their cameras, etc.. but were put in a spot that they really couldn't take many pictures. Of course there was a professional photographer at the dolphin center, and they charged a couple hundred bucks to get a memory stick of the images.

Agree with above. We could not use our cameras for dolphin swim, but can on CC. I have an underwater camera (not a Go-Pro) that works great for above and below the surface. You can also get some great shots of your ship from just off the beach, too. The stingrays are great...don't forget to practice the stingray shuffle before you go...easy to learn when you get there, if you don't have time before cruise.
