My DH and I are trying to decide what to do. We are doing a 3 night cruise in April and bringing our 1 year old with us. Is it worth the $$$ to do an excursion of some sort (I realize DD won't be old enough for most things), or just stay on board and enjoy the ship. We are leaning toward just staying on board. But looking for more advice.

I just think DD being 1 seals the deal--you'll have all the sunshine, the pool, the comforts of the stateroom and he ship, and indoor air conditioned areas if DD gets fussy. I think Nassau is nothing to get excited about, but I think we will hop the bus and go to Cable Beach via the Wyndham as described on a couple of threads on this board for a low cost beach day on our own--but DS is more portable at 8 than your DD is.

You might look into the Cable Beach on your own threads by taking a cab for not too much $ to and from the Wyndham, but that would probably be the most I would try.

You should have absolutely gorgeous weather in April, hope you enjoy.

We just cruised in December with our 8 month old and 4 year old. We did the Atlantis Beach Day and had a nice time, but I think if I had it to do over again with them at that age, I'd arrange for the baby to spend some time at Flounders and go down to do some shopping on Nassau, and spend the rest of the day on the ship.
Just something to keep in mind... We had considered doing the dolphin swim or sting ray, but they told us that we could not leave the baby in Flounders due to the return transportation for those excursions taking place at specific times - i.e. if we needed to come back for some reason we couldn't. (?) And, I'm not sure but it seems like they wouldn't let us take the baby with us on either of those excursions.
You'll have fun no matter what you decide.

My question to you is..have you ever been to nassau before. If not..then why wouldn't you get off the ship and explore. Put the baby in the stroller and go for a walk. Get a great meal, do a little shopping.
