Talk about the things you've seen outside your office window lately...

The window in my office looks out onto the intersection between a major East-West commercial route and a North-South limited access highway. I see all sorts of interesting things--of course the raptors nest in the cell tower next to me is a favorite--I brought in my binoculors to have a better view of the goings on up there--no babies that I've seen yet though. :sunny:

Anyhow, a little while ago I heard a helicopter overhead--not moving, just hovering, so I looked out. A Jaguar was pulled over and surrounded by several police, guns drawn. There were a couple of other official looking vehicles including an SUV with blacked out windows there as well. No idea what happened, but it was today's excitement. popcorn::

I woke up to two helocopters hovering outside my kitchen window this morning. Sure enough, when I turned on the news they were showing video of a house under construction about a block away from me that was on fire. The speculation is that it was hit by lightening during a pretty big storm last night. Yikes

That's pretty exciting!

We have a cherry tree right outside the den window. I haven't seen anything but birds yet today, but in the last few days we've had lots of squirrels and one very pesky raccoon in the branches of the cherry tree - about 4 feet from where I sit at the computer. They've already picked all the cherries close to the trunk and are getting pretty brave about venturing further out on the little branches. So I watch them balance very precariously reaching for cherries and eating them.

There are lots of red-tailed hawk nests in the area where I work. I have big windows in my office with a ledge, and occasionally one of the hawks will perch there for a while. They are fierce looking!

Oh yeah, I can see into Fenway Park from my office too. That can be exciting! :)

just the same psycho mockingbird that keeps 'barking' at my cat and 'meowing' at the neighbor's dog.

I work in Midtown Manhattan. Madison Square Garden is right behind my building, as is the main post office. Just the other day, the WNBA had it's All Star Game at the Garden, so they closed off 33rd Street between 7th & 8th Ave. & had some kind of street fair. It was very noisy. Then this morning, when I left Penn Station to go to work, there were tons of cops & police cars on 8th Ave. All we could guess is they were concerned about the bombings in India & the situation in the Middle East.

I don't actually have my own window, but I can usually see through the window of the attorney's office in front of me...which gives me a lovely view of another building. If I stand up, I can actually see the Boston harbor. When I'm sitting in one of my attorney's offices, I can usually see planes that have just taken off from Logan. And from the other two attorney's offices...the Big Dig. Yeah, that's exciting...well it was when you could see the construction guys sleeping in the bulldozers. (Though I'm pretty sure that's not what the "doze" in bulldozers means.)

The local squirrels are attacking the hibiscus bush outside my office window again, just after the bush finally started blooming again. I always thought the flowers would be harmful to a squirrel but I've watched them eat too many of the flowers to think that anymore! I miss the flowers. :(

Here's what I just wasted 30 minutes of my work day photographing with my camera phone (laying on the ground mind you too :rotfl2:)

Baby Turkeys :)

I AM SO JEALOUS! I love Red Tails... that must be so fantastic! :bounce:

Another Midtown-Manhattan person. I'm up at 42nd and 6th Ave, so I look out onto Bryant Park, which is right behind the Public Library (it was the library everyone ran into in the movie "Day after Tomorrow"). Since it is a nice sunny day here today, the skin is out on the park. And let me tell you, it is not favoring men or women, both are on display in abundance today. Not a bad place for a lunch spot or window view. ;)

I have a wonderful scenic view of employees and patients :smokin: When they aren't blocking the window, there is a guy with his car pulled up selling garden vegetables from his trunk. Now, how many people come to a hospital to purchase their dinner veggies :confused3

When I worked at a bank on the drive-thru, I saw quite a bit of interesting things. The drive-thru was open until 7:00, so after 5:00 it was just 2 of us and things would get slow a lot of nights.

One time, there was a kitty walking around the parking lot and I turned on the speaker and called "here kitty, kitty" and the cat came over and then just sat in the middle of the drive-thru lane and wouldn't move. I was so afraid she was going to get hit and we had very strict rules about going outside after the inside was closed, so I couldn't go make her move. Luckily, it was slow and she eventially moved on.

There was a Long John Silver's across the road from us w/ some parking places in the back among some pine trees that were kind of secluded, except from us, looking out our big drive thru window. There was a man and women that would come in 2 separate cars about 3 times a week and then get into one of the cars and "disapear". We wouldn't see their heads or anything for a while. Then they would get back into their own cars and drive off. I know they had no idea we were watching!! We figured they were having an affair, but wanted to be optimistic and think they were husband and wife and had jobs w/ different hours and were just meeting up so they could see each other!

Then, the most exciting was one night when 2 motorcycles came flying through the drive thru and one slid in the oil and stuff and then here come the police w/ lights flashing and sirens going. They stop and get out and one officiers goes over to the guy who had fallen and pulled his gun and put his foot on the guy laying on the ground until the other officiers could get there. The bad guys had robbed a store or something like that. They got hauled away.

In my current job, we have rubber band fights sometimes.

In one of my old offices, one of the guys had the only inside office while everyone else had windows. So they painted a mural in his office with a window that overlooked some water with a sailboat.

:lmao:

There are just two of us in the office I work in. We've been known to have a few rubberband fights. Sometimes we even shoot paper clips! We have a window that looks out at a cow pasture. Once in a whle we have a deer go past and one time a bunch of chickens got loose and were in the yard.

Thus the need for rubberband fights! :rotfl:
