Excited about Wilderness Lodge

After 12 years of wanting to go back to Disney and wanting to stay at the WL, I finally am!!!! Thanks to Free dining, we are booked (as of this morning) with 2 woods view rooms.

This is also the kids first trip. My fil and mil are coming also. Any tips/suggestions/or just anything I should know about the WL and it with kids? (the only places we have stayed are mods and FW.)

If you look on here there is a WL thread that is awesome with answers and pictures. We are also staying at the WL for the first time and this thread answered all of my questions.

your kids are going to love the boat ride to the mk, but if your in a hurry the bus ride is only 5 minutes! artist point is one of the best places to eat hands down! have an awesome time..

I'm so excited for you...WL is our favorite resort and I bet it will soon be yours too! Some fun things your daughters will enjoy:

1) the rubber duck races at the pool right around 3 pm
2) walking down the beach to see the Electric Water Pageant
3) looking for bunnies hiding in the bushes nibbling on grass
4) watching the geyser spout up
5) pony rides and/or petting zoo at Fort Wilderness (you can take the boat there or rent a buggy-bike and follow the path)

Congratulations! WL is gorgeous.
Make sure you take some time to explore the resort and enjoy it. Little details are what make this place special.

We check in on Wednesday & I can't wait!! DH & I are going to spend the first day just wandering around WL til dinner & then I want to hop over & see the Contemporary & the Poly. We've already seen GF. Or maybe we'll go over to FW & catch a carriage ride.....I'm just so excited I can't stand it..................

You will have a FANTASTIC time! WL is just gorgeous! We stayed there this past Jan. we did have a woods view room. The view was nice, nothing spectacular, but nothing bad either. We loved the pool and hot tubs, we usually utilized those in the evenings. The boat ride to the MK was very scenic and relaxing. We would not hesitate to stay there again. Have a great time!

My favorite hotel, try to be flag family, what a view to say the least and Stan is the best. You need to rub Humphrey's nose when you get there for good luck. You will love it

You are going to love it. And let me tell you, from experience, once you go into the lobby and your eyes automatically look up, you are going to say "WOW". I love that lobby, I could just sit in it all day and people watch. Also, if you haven't made ADRs for WWC, do it...your whole family will have such a good time and the food is awesome. Anyway, have fun and I am sooooo jealous.

Have I great trip!!! The WL is our absolute favorite resort!!! We are heading back for our 7th stay in 4 years and we can't wait!!! There is nothing better than sitting and relaxing in one of the comfy chairs in the lobby and just listening to all the sounds of the Lodge!!
Make sure to rub Humphrey's nose at the start of your vacation for a magical time!!! (He is located right outside the Mercantile Store)

After reading all the posts, I am soooo excited!! We are going for 10 days in July!! Will definitely be spoiled considering the fact we stayed at All Stars last time with friends (still have a great time, but will love the kitchen ) The pictures are great!!
