Hi I have been going on a lot of sites lately and there are more rumblings of an expected announcement of the fourth park and park additions in the near future. Pokemon, Jason Bourne, HP expansion, Nintendo land and a few others sounds great!

I know everything is "rumor" and not confirmed but I am still getting so excited thinking about it!

Most of my friends and family don't get it and can't understand why I get so excited and talk about Universal so much. That is why I love these boards I can share without being ridiculed :thumbsup2

I can't contain my excitement around them anymore:rotfl2:

Haha. I can relate. I think my dh and DS are tired of listening to me talk about everything Universal/Orlando/Loews Hotels. We just got home a couple weeks ago from
our first trip to the darkside and I’m hooked. I’m away for a few days right now visiting family but once I’m home I’m going to book our hotel for a week in December. :yay::yay::yay:

Oh boy! Shhh, Universal would be my definite go to place. Sorry Disney

Haven't heard any recent LOTR rumours.

Must admit I have heard a few rumblings about LoTR........from folks I didn’t expect to hear it from.

The only small possibility of LOTR stuff I've heard have been for the 4th park which won't be happening for a bit yet.

Yep, but I believe it’s coming. Eventually.

Hi so glad others are hearing things and feel the same. I have read about LOTR, Bourne (T2 show take over), Jurassic world getting a make over, Pokemon, more on the Nintendo and the Ministry of Magic. I also think that what is being speculated out there will be coming in the future.

Didn’t the fourth park rumor start of April 1st?

The last day or two is when more media and forum sites have been writing about it quite a bit. I have read several different articles from different media on it. This is the first time in awhile I have seen quite a few ones. One Florida news station did a piece.

What site are you seeing the Universal rumors on? I like reading this type of stuff but also wonder how credible the sources are sometimes..

Universal has been dramatically taking market share away from Disney for a few years now.

Evidentlty, Volcano Bay is already averaging higher numbers than either of Disney's water parks and they have higher occupancy in their hotels. Disney has NEVER had a competitor like this.

Universal opening a fourth park could very well be the body blow that could bring Disney to it's knees.

Universal Blvd goes all the way to 528 for a reason (and is also why there is a huge hotel building boom by them now), this has been planned way longer than the last few years, although Vivendi sold the land back in the early 2000s before Comcast bought the company and they subsided, but they have bought most of it back and actually have permits to start grading the land for a new area. It'll be a few years, but they are *already* doing work on the site for it. The image below is a permit for the south Florida water management district about doing site work. The top part by sand lake road already has stuff going on (will be new back of house structures), and the south part will start very soon. I think the 4th park is going to take about 4 years to go up. Some of the other land is pending lawsuits, but will start shortly thereafter. They have over 500 acres of land down there now, and will probably aquire 350 more adjacent fairly soon.

This really isn't surprising in the least. Disney's water parks are both old and they really don't do much to add new things to them. Maybe once every 10 years or something there's a new ride. They also make it a complete pain in the butt to get to if you use their free transportation. The water parks have a lot of untapped potential to draw crowds away from the main 4 parks- which continue to get more and more crowded- and Disney just isn't using them properly.

It's funny that Uni is currently beating Disney at their own game in terms of strategy.
