Exchanges using points from 2 diff. resorts?

Hi,

Just wondering - with the points for II exchanges - say I want a high season 1 BR which is 160 points and I have 150 pt contract at VWL and a 100 pt contract at VB - can the 2 be combined to make up the 160, or do you need it from 1 resort?

The two can be combined. It is a lot easier if they have the same use year. Make sure and tell them how many points from each contract you want to be used toward the exchnage.

I haven't asked since they made the changes last winter. I am assuming they can be combined but don't know for certain. You may need to transfer the points from one contract to another as you would have to do for Alaska cruise and the like. Under the old system they could be combined under the SAME RULES YOU USE FOR RESERVING ANYWAY, the 7/11 months window. I'm certian they will be able to work it out though so I wouldn't be worried about it.

when you say transfer points from one contract to another, how does that work? Can we transfer points from one resort to our other contract and use the 11-month window?

The answer is currently yes for most ways you could ask this question. The transferred points become the same home resort as the destination use year regardless of what the rules say. That may change once they make changes in the computer program. And yes for the cruise and other exchange options as well.

just wanted to comment that this "glitch" only applies when you really have 2 separate memberships.
if you have 2 different contracts under the same member#, points don't need to get transferred around.
