If someone were you give you one particular gift that was not your taste, or that you would not be able to use, what would it be?

For myself, it would be purfume. I sneeze when there is strong scents like such around me.

What type of toppings do you like on your spagetthi? Ex. marinara sauce, white sauce, parm. cheese...?
parmesan cheese, spaghetti sauce

More than likely perfume. I don't wear it and don't care for most scents. Having a scent on me drives me nuts. I have to change clothes sometimes after going out to dinner depending on the scent that lingers on my clothing from the restaurant.

If you were to recieve a package of goodies from a country you have never recieved anything from before, where would you pick, and name one-three things you would like to recieve.

*Sorry with being sick, and busy I have not been able to post a QOTD daily. I will try to get back onto track with it ;).

Hope you feel better soon, Patsy!!

Hmmm, I've received stuff from England, Canada, Australia, France and Germany. So any country besides them would be fine. I'd like candies, jams, jellies or any type of food that they like and could not be found here.

Hope you feel better soon Patsy! I've been informed by Canada Post that I can't send any food at all through the mail to the USA, which pretty well as much kills my chances of getting involved with any food exchanges. I have received some neat goodies over the years from overseas, and would be interested in getting some treats from Australia, Germany, and England. Have a great day!!

Trish

Hope you're feeling better! I love the questions--even if I don't get to answer them every day.

I honestly can't think of one country I'd be interested in! Maybe Iceland...just because!

If you were to buy a new watch, what brand would you pick?
I'd probably go to WalMart or Target and pick up a Timex. Those have always been reliable for me. But I won't get a new one anytime soon. About 10 years ago, Joe bought me a very expensive watch :lovestruc and I'm going to make sure that I get his money's worth out of it. I wear it everyday and have never had a problem with it. Don't know what brand it is, the jeweler put his name on the front.

Our entire family is still sick since last week. We had to take my son to the ER since he had a 103.5 fever on Friday night, and after my daughter came home from school, she was not doing well at all. We will see how she does, but we might be taking her to the ER if she gets bad as well. I already have an appointment for them both to see the doctor tomorrow. But, if my daughter does not get well, then that means that she will most likely miss out on her 1st grade Christmas preformance, and their gingbread making day, along with putting together Christmas presents....which she was sooooooo looking forward to :(. So, here are todays QOTDs.

*What are some ways that you think my daughter will cheer up...she for the most part is in bed, coughing, and has a fever.

*And, what sort of things did you do for your kids when they were sick, and younger to make them feel better. And/or what did your parents do for you?

Wow Patsy! Sending pixie dust your way! pixiedust: I hope that you don't end up in the ER with Shayla also. If she has to miss her school activities, maybe you could bake cookies with her or get a gingerbread house kit and make it together. Or maybe a snowman cake. Have her perform for you and make a production out of it.

Neither of my kids got sick very often. I can't remember that I did anything special for them, just tried to comfort them when they didn't feel good.

There's no school here today. The farm roads are too slick for the school buses to drive on. And there's already a car in the ditch at the end of my street.

I'm so sorry to hear your daughter is so sick!

I usually fix up a little "nest" of sorts in the living room for them with their blanket and pillow. I let them watch tv, give them popsicles because it gets some liquid into them and feels so good when you're that hot! Crayons.

There's a video letter from Santa on Familyfun.com she might like--you upload a picture of the child and their name. Then it makes a video with Santa checking to see if they're on the nice list. It's cute.

Poor kids!! Hopefully she can kick this quick and not miss out on any of her fun schcool activities.

Maybe putting on a Christmas movie or reading a Christmas book would make her feel a little better.:santa:

You have my sympathies, as we all got down with the flu bug similiar to the one your family has 4 days before Christmas last year, and both kids had high fevers for 3 days. My best advice to check her temp every couple of hrs, and see if she's running a fever over 101F. If she is give her some Childrens Tylenol or something that has a fever reducer in it to knock down the fever. Fever is the bodies way of combating the bug she is fighting, however if it gets over 101F, that is when I start on the fever reducing drugs. Keep her comfortable and warm, and only give her cough syrup if the cough starts getting to her, or at nighttime so that she can sleep. I tend not to over medicate, and I know when you see a high temp in a child that it's very worrying, but so long as you use something to keep it under control that's the most important thing. Hope that you don't get the bug as well, and so I'll send some pixie dust your way, and hope you have a better day!!:tinker: :tinker: :tink: :tink: :tink:

Thank you :goodvibes . Those are great ideas. She had actually made a foam gingerbread house that dvcfamily41801-Lisa, and her son Matt had sent to her. We usually make a gingerbread house, but because of everything going on, and also since it always just ends up in the trash, we decided to only make this fun craft this year which was alot of fun.
Shayla has been singing for us, and she likes having us as her audience :).

::yes:: Shayla had fun putting together a few of the different foam crafts, thank you. We had a long day today. Both Brandon, and Shayla had gone to the doctors, and they both have a sinus, and ear infection. It looks like she will be home from school tomorrow as well.
I will be putting on the Peanuts Christmas video for them, and see what other Christmas activities they want to do :santa:.
