I know my gingersnap recipe says NOT to use butter.
Recipe exchange starts FRIDAY :yay:

Of course!

Claudette's Ginger Snaps

3/4 c shortening (I use butter flavor Crisco)
1 c sugar
1/4 c light molasses
1 beaten egg
2 c flour
2 tsp baking soda
1/4 tsp salt
1 tsp Cinnamon
1 tsp ground cloves
1 tsp ginger

Cream shortening and sugar. Add molasses adn egg, beat well. Sift dry ingredients and add to creamed mixture. Roll in balls, dip one side into sugar. Place 2" apart on ungreased cookie sheet. Bake at 350' for about 9 minutes (my oven at least!)
* Don't bake until cookies are flat--they fall when you take them out of the oven. They should still be a bit puffy when you take them out.

I know that all that Crisco sounds gross, but I"ve tried it with butter and they just didn't turn out as good.

Thank you for the recipe :).

Nancy, for the recipe exchange, will participants be sending X number of recipes along with kitchen items?

::yes:: At least 5 recipes and then the kitchen items....I am putting a minimum price on that part this year.

Lynne....thanks for going to the outlet for me

This is our first year at Le Cellier! Narcoosee's is really nice and my friend works there, so he'd be especially nice if you go. :goodvibes Coral Reef is a cool place, but I don't think the food was as great last year. How about Hoop De Doo? We're doing that the night of our anniversary cause the boys love the ribs and fried chicken. It's campy but a classic. I'm sure you know this but you can see menus on allearsnet.

Done Hoop and luau ....both twice.
I have the food at a lot of places isn't as good as it used to be :(
We love dining at Disney, so I hope that isn't true.
I use allearsnet always....have for years and years, before I even found the DIS :rotfl:
Thanks for the suggestions.......I am not a fan of seafood, but DH is.

IMHO the dining plan is to blame. It's a great idea, and they made it so that you really could get fabulous meals inexpensively. I wonder if it backfired on them? I'm sure they lost a ton of money with it. I know this year tip isn't included, and neither is appetizer. In some ways, with all the food I"m almost glad there's no appetizer, but in some cases that's what the kids liked best! :goodvibes

How was Marrakesh, BTW?

I heard that a lot of the restaurants took a lot of the more expensive items off the menu because of the DDP :( We never do it....we get the DDE (or TiW  ).
Marrakesh....been there twice. I didn't care for it. DH liked it. Friend didn't care for it. We always go to the sit down places for lunch (well, unless they are only open for dinner), so that may be a difference.

I heard that, too. I think they should have a seperate menu, or charge a little extra for those items, instead of getting rid of them.

We've done DDE, and DDP. The DP was easier last year, and from my quick calculations it seems to still be a better deal for us with the 3 boys.

We do the DDE because we also buy annual passes and then go 2-3 times in the year time frame.
I've also heard the DDP is just too much food!! Maybe that is why they got rid of the appetizers ;)
I think we are going to get 26 days in this time....if the June trip happens.

I am so excited!!!

We are leaving soon for WDW...of course not as soon as Merriweather. :lovestruc

But, we will be on the PREMIUM DDP this time...popcorn:: I don't know what I am going to do with all that food...

I wish I had a good idea on what restaurants for you to pick, but you already have all the ones I am going to. :cheer2:

Well, Lynne is leaving even earlier ::yes::

I have my ADR done for Nov....working on Jan now

And Eva, there is a nice bedroom all ready for you in that house princess:

I KNOW!!!! I only wish I could stay in that BEDROOM!!! :cloud9:

Janurary ADRs huh? :scared1: That is soooo cool!! Again, I have no idea on where you should go. We will be eating so many places this time because of the plan. Now, I will be more informed!! We are also planning to do a TP this time around... so everyone can see!:woohoo:
