What was the last good samaritan thing that you had done?

* I had gone shopping today, and while looking back towards my kids, there was a man who dropped his credit card and kept walking, so I told it to him. I know that if it was me, that I would have been very worried as to not knowing its whereabouts and wondering if someone was using it.

I guess it would be all the school supplies that I bought to give to either the mission or the women's shelter.

Patsy,
I heard on the radio today that people who live in Hawaii have the longest life expectancy of any state in the US. You will out live all of use exchangers. ;)

I guess buying a ton of stuff at B&BW semi-annual sale and then shipping them overseas to our female soldiers. It was a lot of fun ::yes::

I have an :offtopic: question! :rolleyes1
My question and open discussion topic is Universal Studios related. :chat: :tiptoe:
Have you attended HHN?
Do you plan to this year? (Either at Hollywood or Orlando)
This year's theme is Leatherface, Freddy (Friday 13th fame) and Jason.
What do you think of this theme/characters?
And are there characters or theming you rather see?

DH and I enjoy going to Universal's Halloween Horror Nights. We even buy the Frequent Fear Pass and go 4 - 5 nights each year. (For only these past two years though.)
I have not seen any of these films. (Going back to my avoiding slasher, blood, gore and guts films. :confused3 )

Discuss among yourselves. :hyper2: :thumbsup2 :rotfl2:

Really, that is interesting to hear and something I wouldn't expect. I wonder why?

Sorry, I have never been there before.

I actually rather like Freddy who is from Nightmare on Elm Street Jason is from Friday the 13th. I don't like Jason or Leatherface as much. Freddy had a real character and personality. I guess because he was a speaking character. The other 2 don't do a whole lot of dialogue. I've only seen bits and pieces of Leatherface(no pun intended!) I'm just not into the whole Texas Chainsaw thing!! I've seen 2 Friday the 13ths and I guess all but one of the Nightmare ones. I really don't like horror movies at all!! The ones I did see was when I was a teenager. Now I prefer to laugh at movies..real life is scary enough!!

Have fun!!
Kimba

I won't see the Chain Saw one. The fact that it is based on true happenings really freaks me out. I hated the Friday series. I mean, come on, how many times can you not kill someone dead?
The Nightmare ones were really scary. I did see those as a teen. I still get flash backs of the girl turning into a bug. Yes, I do have a bug phobia.

I don't think I could handle going somewhere with a theme like that. Too much blood & gore for my tastes.

What is one dish that your family enjoys, that you don't cook, but wish you knew how?

I cook most everything well, and I love to bake, but I must say that the one thing I don't prepare often is steak. My family apparantly enjoys steak because they ordered it frequently enough on our trip to WDW this summer, but anytime I attempt to make it at home it never turns out right. Never as good or even close to a restaurant steak. Maybe its the cut of meat, or the cooking method -- who knows. I just stink at it!

Luv2Roam~ I like Universal, but hate all that horror nights stuff. Too scary for me!

I can also cook about everything.....still not to great at making gravy though. My mother made it so well, I can never get it that good.

I like Universal....never been to their Halloween party though.
HATE slasher movies though....although I do like other horror movies.

I can pretty much cook and bake everything too. Although a good pie crust still seems to elude me:mad: I WILL get it though!!

Sounds like we have a bunch of good cooks here.
Can you all cook Asian foods? I want to learn how to make mongolian beef, orange chicken, bulgogi, and spicy pork if any of you have some tried and true recipes of these.

I don't do pie crust either. I am not a crust person to begin with, but with the ones that I have tried, they don't turn out too well.

I have two older sisters who are both good cooks. I told DH once that he married the wrong sister. :rotfl2:

I CAN cook. I don't mind baking. But then I eat it, and that is not good. And don't like cleaning up the mess.

I would probably cook and bake a lot more if for not working FT outside the home, and there just being DH and I. Seems like we don't have the same tastes (pun intended) for food either. What I like, he doesn't care for, etc.

DH fondly recalls his mother making BuckEye candies. Kinda a soft peanutbutter inside with a hard(er?) chocolate candy on the outside.
I did try once, but ended up having throwing them away..... :scared1: :sad2: :dance3:
