Happy 4th of July to all my American friends!!

We are officially doing nothing!! Well DH and the kids are watching Lord of the Rings! The weather has been yucky-we had a tornado watch up until a little while ago. So we will be watching fireworks on tv...nothing around here can compare to WDW anyway:rotfl: I think I'm spoiled. We did get to BBQ in between rain and this morning we went to the movies. DH and DS saw Transformers and me and my DDs saw Ratatouille. Cute movie!

So how's everyone else's 4th??

We've had the tornado watch all day here too.
So we've been inside doing not much of anything.

I love seeing all the pictures of my DIS friends. :)

mrsheppo ~ beautiful little girl :cloud9:

Great tiara Nancy! Something I'd happily wear!

:cutie: Isabella is a cutie.
I forgot to put a QOTD, so I will put two-one for today, and one for tomorrow.

*What three foods do you think are overpriced at the store?

*Are you a fan of frozen foods?

Right now a lot of foods are overpriced.

I do like frozen food. We eat frozen veggies and we like the Stouffer's frozen dinners. Once in a while we will eat a Swanson TV dinner or Pepperidge Farm pot pie.

*What three foods do you think are overpriced at the store?

Right now I think milk is overpriced (just paid $4.49 for a gallon in Sweetbay)
Also, chicken cutlets and gatorade. I mean, chicken cutlets are overpriced because they did the pounding/slicing to make them thin, but $6.99 a lb is too much.

I like some frozen foods. I like frozen cheese ravioli and vegetables. Does ice cream count?:) My son likes frozen mozzarella sticks.

I think it all overpriced. It is really quite crazy.

We love frozen food. I've always believed that frozen veggies were healthy than canned. (no science to back that up, though) And frozen seems to last longer (not spoil) like fresh does on me.

Any of my exchange board friends want a postcard from Disneyland... I'm a couple months out from my trip (64 days) I know but I am getting anxious and ahead of myself I figure I can send about 10 cards if anyone wants one send me a PM!

Milk, cabbage, and bread.

I like frozen foods since it does make things easier when you are busy or in a rush.

Tink_Or_Belle, sending you a pm. My daughter collects Disney postcards and hangs them on the front of her bedroom door.

Today is share a recipe or household tip. And, today's QOTD is....
Do you like to take long nice baths or are you someone who takes fast showers?

Here is my recipe for my Slow cooker Pizza soup it is Yummy:cloud9:

1 can(28 ounces)diced tomatoes in garlic,not drained
1 can(14.5 ounces)beef broth
8ounces diced pepperoni
1 bunch chopped green onions
1 cup water
1Tbsp italian seasoning
2 cups shredded mozzarella

Mix all ingredients, except cheese in a 3 quart or larger slow cooker.Cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours or until vegetables are tender.Ladle into soup bowls and top with cheese.

PS I usually buy the stick pepperoni and chop that up,but any pepperoni will do.

And for the question of the day,I usually take long showers.

I am very late now but happy belated 4th of July all! I hope you all had a great holiday!

I loved seeing the pics of some of you guys! So pretty! :)

You can see one of me here.. http://myspace.com/thislilmomma

I honestly can not think of a band I would want to sing backup for. My voice is just NOT that great..:lmao:

I have to agree that I think milk is way overpriced at the store. We get ours at Walgreens b/c they put it on sale often.

We do eat a lit of frozen foods sadly. It is just easier and cheaper most of the time and we like them so yes they do get cooked around here. :rolleyes1

Household tip...keep your house smelling good with yummy yankee candles!! :rotfl2:

Most of you probably already know this recipe.

Sand & Dirt Cups

1 pkg. (4-serving size) JELL-O Vanilla Flavor Instant Pudding & Pie Filling
1 pkg. (4-serving size) JELL-O Chocolate Flavor Instant Pudding & Pie Filling
1 qt. (4 cups) cold milk, divided
1 cup thawed COOL WHIP Whipped Topping, divided
20 OREO Chocolate Sandwich Cookies, finely crushed
16 worm-shaped chewy fruit snacks

PREPARE vanilla and chocolate pudding mixes separately with milk as directed on packages. Let stand 5 minutes. Gently stir 1/2 cup of the whipped topping into each bowl of pudding.
SPRINKLE 1 Tbsp. of the cookie crumbs into bottom of each of 8 (6-oz.) dessert cups; top each with layers of 1/4 cup vanilla pudding, 1 Tbsp. cookie crumbs and 1/4 cup chocolate pudding. Sprinkle evenly with remaining cookie crumbs. Refrigerate at least 1 hour or until ready to serve.
INSERT 2 fruit snacks into each dessert just before serving.

Good morning, exchangers :sunny:
4th was a blast ;) But it sure is a lot of work. I think I am getting too old for it.
Takes forever to set up, take down, clean, cook.

Leaving for AZ this afternoon.....HOT!! I may melt. I will have computer access....if DS will share ;) Not sure how much I will get on there though.

Here is a recipe we enjoyed at the party.

Ok, let me catch up!!

Band I'd like to sing back up for..... I don't know, a fun band like Kiss!!

What groceries are overpriced: ALL OF THEM!! But Milk ($4.19 a gal. here:eek: ) Bread (includes rolls of all types!) and eggs (I'm seriously considering investing in chickens). I guess I'd add fruits and veggies too. I paid $5.00 for a dozen ears of corn..it WAS Jersey corn and it WAS oh so yummy!!! But at that price it's more like dessert for the meal than a veggie!!

Frozen Foods: I do buy frozen french fries, pizza rolls, nuggets, raviolis and I do keep a few En cor entrees on hand for "emergencies".

Shower or Bath: For cleanliness a shower definitely!! I NEED my shower every morning or I'm just not happy  . But I do occasionally like to indulge in a long bath!!:cloud9:

Recipe: Amish Funnel Cake Recipe (Fun for this time of the year!)

Ingredients:
3 eggs, beaten
2 c. milk
1/4 c. sugar
4 c. flour, sifted
2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt

Directions:
To beaten eggs, add milk and sugar. In separate bowl sift dry ingredients. Add to egg mixture, beating until smooth. Heat oil to 375 degrees and pour batter into hot fat through a regular household funnel. Control the flow of batter by holding your finger over the bottom of the funnel. Make patterns, designs, swirls or whatever with the stream of batter as it flows into the hot fat. When "cakes" are golden brown, drain, sprinkle with confectioners' sugar and serve warm

With two little ones, I don't get to take long baths. But I do like to take showers better.

King's Bakery Bread Pudding
1 loaf King's Bakery sweet bread
1 1/2 blocks butter or margarine
1 cup sugar
3 cups milk
1 1/2 tsp. vanilla
9 eggs, beaten
raisins
cinnamon
nutmeg

Melt the butter, sugar, and milk. Break the bread into large pieces in a -greased 9x13 inch pan. Sprinkle the raisins over the bread pieces. Let the melted butter mixture cool till warm. Add eggs-making sure that the mixture is not too hot or else it will curdle. Add the vanilla, and pour over the bread using a small cup so that the mixture gets poured over evenly over the bread. Sprinkle the top with cinnamon and nutmeg. Bake at 350 degrees for 20-25 minutes.

-Nancy, have a safe and fun trip.
-Kim, the funnel cake sounds yummy.

Sunday is Brandon's party, and we are expecting 80-100 people, so we have lot to do. I'm planning on getting up at around two or three in the mornng to get ready for that, but I haven't been getting much sleep lately.
This morning, I was to pick up Kevin's cousins from the airport. He was flying in from Las Vegas to Hon. then to here, but his flight had gotten delayed by like five hours :sad2: . So, I am just having to figure out when I need to do my errands, and when I need to pick him up at the airport. :3dglasses :surfweb:

For Brandon's birthday party, we are having a animal cracker guessing contest. I have a 3qt. container filled with crackers....how many do you think is in it?

*To make things more fun, if or to the first person who guesses the correct amount of animal crackers, will get a prize from me.
