Are you ready for any of the upcoming major holidays? Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Christmas? Do you already have plans, presents, food menu....put together, or are you working on anything yet?

I have the candy for Halloween and will decorate Oct. 1st.

We don't do anything for Thanksgiving anymore.

I need to start shopping for Christmas gifts soon.

No plans for anything as of yet. I would like to draw names for Christmas this year at Thanksgiving for my side of the family. We've never done it before and I thought it would be a nice change. Easier on the pocket book too.

Halloween.....need to figure out which kids we will be giving special treats to, along with school staff members, neighbors, family, and friends. I like to make a dessert to give to the people who give my kids goodies for Halloween.

For Thanksgiving, we will most likely have an early dinner, and will have to plan for that. We usually have all of the same items, along with other no traditional items. Might try to make new desserts, and side dishes.

Christmas, I plan for this all year long, and have more than half of my list completed. I am going to be making homemade goodies for some people, and won't be able to get that done till the last minute. Can't wait for my Christmas tree to come up, and start wrapping presents. But, I have a TON of people to buy for, and more adding onto my list almost every month . Then comes the Christmas cards, stocking, Santa gifts, meals....and having to plan for New Years Eve, and Day.

But then comes the HOLIDAY EXCHANGES as well!!!!

Not ready for anything yet. Busy contemplating/discussing gifts for the girls for Christmas with DH. One 'big' gift and usually $. Will buy candy for Halloween and decorate closer to the date. We have a family reunion every year out of town for Thanksgiving, so we don't do anything for that holiday other than drive and show up - and eat!

Susan we used to draw names (but couples), it is a lot easier on the pocketbook. After awhile though we stopped as it got to the point we never knew what to get each other, as we all bought what we needed or wanted throughout the year.

So now John and i just buy a gift for my mom and sister (they both insisted that it be only one gift). His family stopped getting together after his mom died (they only ever got together for her).

Now i have a niece to buy for and i can't wait to start shopping.



Patsy if you all get together for Thanksgiving, then that's a good time to draw names. (that is when we did it)

Halloween: Candy ready
Thanksgiving: Dinner with my extended family menu stays the same
Christmas: will draw names at thanksgiving, daughter has her list already, dinner with extended family.

Heidi....not everyone gets together during Thanksgiving. But my aunty would be in charge of it since it is her side of the family, my uncles, and such, and such. Will talk to her more about it around Thanksgiving. I am usually the one that is the most prepared within the family.

Do you have an alarm that wakes you up in the morning? If so, what time is it set for?



Right now, I hear my phone alarm going off, but neither one of my kids are waking up to turn it off, or coming out of the room. I have it set for 6:10 or 6:15 on school days. And even though I do not have an alarm set, my body automatically knows around when to wake up. Sometimes sooner then I hope for such as this morning when I woke up at 5:00, and couldn't go back to sleep.

How is everyones day going? Had a difficult morning with my son in school. He didn't cry up until today. He screamed his head off, and I had to leave him with the school employees. I walked away, and looked from the hallway below where he would not see me. My teacher friend whose class I was by, helped in talking to me, while I kept seeing people stare at Brandon as he kicked, cried, yelled.... it look four adults to bring him towards to office or other room where they have toys and such. Two adults to carry him, one just walked, and the other took his backpack. I was a reck!!!! But I had gotten a call saying that he was fine after that, and got a text from my friend saying that he was smiling, and having fun at recess. Oh, not looking forward to tomorrow. Feel like having a blah crying day today.
