Here's another QOTD.

Do you have an alarm that wakes you up in the morning? If so, what time is it set for?

My radio alarm goes off at 4:00 a.m., I hit the snooze sometimes twice, then I get up... This is only for the summer. We have the option of doing 'summer hours' at the office, with four days on and three off, as long as we get our hours in... I'd rather come in early and leave early than come in late and leave late. When its over, I will be getting up at 5:00 a.m.... DD's alarm goes off at 5:30 a.m. for her to get up and get ready for school. School starts at 7:25 a.m.

We have the alarm set for 5:30 am, but we are usually up before it goes off.

Patsy sorry to hear Brandon had a hard time today, go ahead and have a good cry just don't let him know you are upset.

How is everyones day going? Had a difficult morning with my son in school. He didn't cry up until today. He screamed his head off, and I had to leave him with the school employees. I walked away, and looked from the hallway below where he would not see me. My teacher friend whose class I was by, helped in talking to me, while I kept seeing people stare at Brandon as he kicked, cried, yelled.... it look four adults to bring him towards to office or other room where they have toys and such. Two adults to carry him, one just walked, and the other took his backpack. I was a reck!!!! But I had gotten a call saying that he was fine after that, and got a text from my friend saying that he was smiling, and having fun at recess. Oh, not looking forward to tomorrow. Feel like having a blah crying day today.:sad1:

My heart goes out to you! BIG HUGS!! Stay tough. He's okay. Really. And this too shall pass. It goes on for a couple weeks or so and then it stops. I went through that two or three years in a row! It's heart-wrenching I know. Just hang in there.:hug:

Hang in there Patsy!

My alarm is set to go off at 6:15 am. I'm the one that sets it and turns it off. I get up and then Joe gets up sometime between then and 7:00.

Thank you ladies. He seems to be okay for the most part, except that he said that he will cry again tomorrow :sad2:. So will see what happens.

If you were to change your first, and last name to some other name, what would it be, and why?

When i was younger i always wanted my name to be the longer version of my middle name. Now that i am older i am fine with my first name.

Now as for the last name - If i wouldn't have married then when i turned 18 i was going to take my moms madien name, as i did not want to keep my biological fathers last name. Of course i did marry and took his last name.

I'm happy with my name too. I wouldn't change my first or middle name. If I were to change my last name, it might be to take the e off of the end but then there are more Lamb's than Lambe's. I'll keep the e.

Say if you were baking or cooking late a night at about 10, and you ran out of eggs, and flour. How far would you have to travel to buy these products? Do stores, restaurants, and other businesses close at an early time where you live, or are there alot of hussle, and bussle at wee hours of the night, and morning?

I have a 24 hour Walmart and Kroger three miles away. I also have a Walgreens but I'm not sure I could get flour there but they do have eggs.

We have just about every kind of store you can think of within a 5 to 10 mile radius of our house, and most of the grocery stores are open 24 hours, as well as Walmart. The rest close at 9:00 or 10:00.

I would have to drive twenty minutes for a grocery store. Not sure if they would have flour at the gas station store.

Wish we had an Albertsons here. It is a mainland chain, and the prices are great compared to what we have to pay here.

Posting tomorrows QOTD early, and hoping that many of you are able to help me. I am the leader for my son's club as well-just happened last night. At least their club is smaller with 4 members right now, might go up to 6. We have boys, and girls who are in kindergarten, and first grade. We need to plan different activities for them to do while the parents are having a meeting-we will get help from my daughter who will be 9, and hopefully her friends or another child's aunty, so the kids will be surprivsed, and will have help during that time. We need to also plan out our frield trips, service projects, see if we can get guest speakers to come and show our kids new things..... I have a bunch of ideas jotted down, but wanted to hear what sort of things all of you would do with this age group, and mix of boys, and girls if you were to put together activities, and such.

Go to the zoo.

Have a veterinarian come and talk or maybe a field trip to his/her office. Do the same at an aquarium.

Make masks out of paper grocery sacks.

Make a halloween candy bag for trick or treating.

Make a stepping stone for the garden/yard with the child's hand/foot print.

Make turkeys for Thanksgiving out of apples, toothpicks, raisins, gumdrops, etc.

Make a reindeer ornament out of a large dog cookie.

Make a Christmas ornament with a pine cone. Put glue all over it and then sprinkle with glitter. Glue a red ribbon bow on top with a loop for hanging.

Plant seeds in a flower pot.

Decorate sugar cookies.

Other guest speakers could be firemen, policemen, dentists, doctors, chefs, gardeners, etc.

Get a book with simple paper crafts from the bookstore or look online for busy work during the parent meetings. Harder crafts for the kids meetings.

How often do the kid's club meet?

Great ideas! I actually have some of them down on our agenda, or we will be doing them. We are going to plant a seed for our meeting on Sunday, I asked the parents if they knew any guest speakers-friends, family members, or if they had connections-such as the chef who can teach and cook for us, thinking of various holiday things that we can do, and writing them out right now. Wish we had a zoo, and an aquarium-those would be alot of fun!

All of the different clubs vary with meeting times, activitites that they do...but usually once a month for meetings. But with how I am putting things together, since we are going to do fundraising, many service projects, field trips.... we may have a small meeting when we go on a field trip, and we will not need to have an activity during those times. Just trying to keep it fun, and age appropriate for the kids.

But then, there is also my daughter's club to think about lol. At least with that club the parents will take turns with activities that they come up with, and we will see when it is my turn, and what month it is.

I would have to travel about a half an hour to King Kullen to get it. All the grocery stores in my town close at 9 right now during the summer.... If the King Kullen for whatever reason was closed Id have to drive about an hour to get to a Walmart..... In the winter everything closes a lot earlier, and we loose the 24 hour king kullen.... Everything where I live is catered to the tourists who visit "The Hamptons" in the summer.

Whoops! Just realized you posted a new QOTD.... well heres the answer to the previous one i guess :)

Stores...I can walk to a Turkey Hill convenience store if I needed to. Across the street from them is a local grocery store that I normally shop at. But they're Mennonite run and close early, and aren't open Sundays. I'd have to drive about 10-15 minutes to get to a big chain store.

Patsy when my cousin had a girl scout group she loved http://www.orientaltrading.com/ for craft projects.

I like Susan's list and would add pine cone bird feeders.

Pine cones
Peanut butter
Bird seed

Spread the peanut butter on the pine cones and sprinkle on the bird seed.
