The DIS exchangers are planning a meet at WDW in Dec. 2011 :yay:
Nothing else specific has been planned yet. The real planning will start this summer.
A list of those planning on coming for it is in the first post of the "Who's going?" thread.

That sounds like so much fun! I would love to go. Maybe.......

For your birthday, do you usually go out for a birthday dinner?

Hey all, wow, I forgot how much I missed the QOTD!

Anyway, we always go out for my birthday dinner. The past few years, we have gone to Roy's Hawaiian Fusion. SOO Good!

Welcome back!!! :goodvibes

Will you be joining in on the exchanges again?

I had been to Roys before, and I enjoyed my meal as well. We had a variety of different things, but my favorite is the ribs-yum!

I will be returning to my exchanging ways :)

My favorite theme songs are Perfect Strangers and Tale Spin :)

What are your top three most favorite catchiest tv theme songs?

LOL! Mine are:

Three's Company
The Golden Girl's
Dragon Tales

:rotfl:

Meriweather, are all members welcome to join in on the "Who's Going" thread?? I'd love to attend the meetup!! :)

of course.....let me know when ever you have a trip planned to any Disney park or a Disney cruise and I will add it to page one which has the list.

I found the thread, Meriweather, and please add me to the Dec. 2011 trip list. I'd love to attend that! Will it be WDW?

We still might have our vacation here at WDW in February, but we might be moving here, too, so, I don't know yet! :confused3 :rotfl:

I like to go to Macaroni Grill where I can chose my own toppings. One of the choices is meat sauce, so guess that is my #1. (Love the roasted garlic cloves that are added too...)

In Omaha we use to frequent a spaghetti restaurant where they had many selections of sauces to choose from. I usually got a trio where the used alfredo, meat and cheese. (Heart attack on a plate. ;) )

But really olive oil and fresh garlic are pretty good. :)

I will eat plain prego, but I prefer no sauce at all.

Ragu with or without meat. I like the chunky mushroom. But when I go out to eat at an Italian restaurant, I tend to eat lasagne or try something new.

I don't really have a recipe. It is one of those that I just do.....it changes by what I have around. Been doing it for over 30 years. DM before me, learned just watching her.

Basically ground beef (but sometimes mixture or beef and pork or Italian sausage).
Browned with garlic and onion....sorry there will be no amounts ;)
Add tomato sauce, spices...oregano, basil, Italian spice mix...what ever you like. We add a touch of cayenne too.
I then add mushrooms, bell peppers (red or green or a mix). Sometimes olives.
Simmer as long as possible. At least 1 1/2 hours.

I also make my own sauce. I've tried the jar sauces, just not as good. Making your own sauce isn't hard, but it takes time.

I also learned from my mom. When my sister got married, mom wrote it down. So I can share it.

SPAGHETTI SAUCE

10 cans (28 ounce) of crushed tomatoes
5 cans (6 ounce) of tomato paste
10 cloves garlic
Salt
Pepper
Cinnamon don't add too much, just enough to give it a hint of flavor. The cinnamon adds some depth & some warmth, but you don't want to overwhelm people with it.
Basil
Oregano
Meatballs (see below)
Sausage

Open cans and empty contents into large pot that has been sprayed with cooking spray. Simmer for ½ hr, and then add salt, pepper, garlic, cinnamon, basil and oregano. Allow mixture to cook for 1 hr. Then add the paste and cook for 1 more hr. Stir every ½ hr. Add cooked meatballs and sausage and cook for 1 ½ to 2 hrs. more. I usually freeze it in those disposable containers. I put enough sauce in each for dinner & some leftovers. It thaws pretty quickly if you let it sit on the counter, or overnight in the fridge. Worst case, it will thaw really quickly in the microwave. I'll make a pot of sauce, freeze it, and we're set for a few months.

MEATBALLS

3 lbs. beef
Salt
Pepper
Garlic
Parsley flakes
Bread crumbs
Worchester sauce
Parmesan cheese
Water

Mix all ingredients together. Shape into balls and bake in 400 degree oven until well browned, about 45 minutes, turning every 15 minutes.

Sausage—also cook in a 400 degree oven. I usually cook those for an hour, turning every 15 minutes.

And you can leave out the meat, and it makes a great marinara sauce.
