Don't have to search for that. China, would love to be there during their celebration.

Greece!! Have always wanted to go there, I would loooove it.

Hong Kong sounds nice. How can one go wrong with fried pastries? :lmao:

Hong Kong

Best for: procrastinators

Late planners rejoice! Adhering to the lunar calendar, Hong Kong rings in the Chinese Year of the Rabbit on February 3. Warm-up activities include munching fried pastries, ogling lion dancers and having your fortune told at incense-filled temples. New Year’s Day there’s a Technicolor night parade, while stellar fireworks and holiday horse races are slated for Day 2 and 3 respectively. Just be sure to master the traditional greeting— "kung hei fat choy" (wishing you success and prosperity)—before you go.

I need to look up my daughter's year of what animal she is since she keeps asking me, and I keep forgetting.

I would want to go to Japan to celebrate. To eat all the traditional foods-oshechiyouri. They prepare a bunch of different foods, and put them into bento-boxed lunch containers. So you have small servings of all sort of side dishes, main dishes, sushi,...... and on New Years they go to the temple to pay their offerings, and blessings.

If you were to go to New York City to see the ball drop, who other than your significant other would you take along with you?

Any asthmatics here? is it worst for you this winter, or is it time i see my doctor?

My Asthma traditionally get's worse this time of year, between Oct and March each year, with the colder temps and the wetter weather. If you've got an inhaler to help it along, use as needed, if you don't then I would suggest going to you doc to get one so you get rid of the wheezies. I know I'm going to get hit over the next week, as it's below freezing in the morning and dry, which is what usually set's it off. I have to scrape windows this morning as Jack Frost paid a visit.
As for NYE in times square, I would be avoiding it, as our family hates large crowds, and tries to avoid them (hence the trip to DL in early Feb/11). Have a great NYE everyone!:rockband::rockband:

If I were to go, I'd take our kids with us. I don't have any desire to be in NY for NYE but if I were to go, I'd reserve a room (hopefully) to watch the festivities from afar.

BELLEDOZER

Yup been using my inhaler, just more then I have all summer. I know i will do better in May once we get to Disney, i always breath better in Florida.

I would take anyone that wants to come with me! My parents, my best friends, grandma, etc. The more the merrier!

I would take my kids with me. Just to experience everything. But like Susan, I like the idea of getting a room, and viewing everything that is happening from afar.

Happy New Year !!!

Another year has passed, with alot of good and unpleasant memories, situations. Today's QOTD is-

Reflecting back to last year, what things stand out for you about the past exchanges you have participated in?

2010 exchanges -- All the effort and time done by the hostesses! Hats off to you all! :thumbsup2

Still would like to have another round of alphabet exchanges though.

Still would like to have another round of alphabet exchanges though.

We can do that...I like the others we have done.
Is there enough interest??

Look for it to start in a couple of weeks....we'll try "A" and see what kind of turn out we get.

Happy New Year everyone.

I don't do many exchanges anymore.

Neither do I, although I would like to do more of them. Between saving for trips to the mouse pretty well back to back, saving for something for the family that's non trip related, and maybe saving to have an older pinball machine we may be getting for free in the next couple of months restored, doesn't leave alot of extra money for exchanges unfortunately:sad2::sad2:. Have to pick and choose the ones I want to be a part of, and as usual the ones I would be interested in getting involved with are going on during the time of our trip to the mouse at the end of the month. May get involved with the spring scavenger hunt in the spring after our trip is over with. Have a great New Years Day everyone!:cheer2::cheer2::cheer2:

I did my very first exchanges in 2010 so that was a lot of fun for me! I liked doing the scavenger hunt a lot and am really excited to do the pen pal exchange. Once I find a full time job I will be participating in a lot more!
