Hi XSRED,
We normally take a 2/3 TC's-1/3 $ split, you need the dollar for the first day or so for basic provisions tolls etc, but everywhere the TC is treated as cash without problems. The safeguard with TC's is obvious as you can have replacements if lost or stolen.

Also I know I am stating the obvious but split the cash and TC's with your other half, in case one of you loses your half of the money

Well I have decided to buy for our trip next week. Not as high as it has been but oh well I expect it will shoot up now that I have bought

I used M&S who will guarantee delivery of the cash and traveller's cheques by Tuesday. Rate was $1.796 - same as Travelex.

Suprisingly Travelex haven't dropped their rate for the weekend - they are still offering $1.796.

However, M&S have dropped - down to $1.773
