Normally, I am a die hard carry-on packer... doesn't matter how long the trip is, I refuse to bring more than I can carry by myself.
That being said, all bets are off for a cruise. I LOVE changing my outfits throughout the day onboard, I love having a different fancy outfit (with appropriate shoes) for each dinner. I love having 8 bathing suits to choose from. I love having extra comforts for my stateroom. It's one of the things I enjoy about cruising! For our TA cruise in September I am planning on 2 checked bags, 2 carry-ons, and 1 garment bag for myself and my husband... so no, I wouldn't say you're over-packing. ;-)
